Abstract
Fragile behavior in the area around the connections which is tangent on beam to column and also incidence of brittle cracks and failures in this area, in the event of severe ground shaking, are the main problems and disadvantages that have negative effect on the performance of steel bending frames and would have restrictions effect on the of the frame's plasticity behavior. To solve the problem of bending the frame, two methods have been proposed. In the first method, the connection will be strengthened so that has enough resistance and sufficient strength to prevent cracks and failures to non-elastic deformation of the frame in the inner part of beams be answered. In the second method,...
Shear and Moment Interaction in Reduced Web Beam Section Connections
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Kazemi, Mohammad Taghi (Supervisor)
Abstract
Northridge earthquake in 1994 which damaged over 200 connections in moment resisting frames showed improper performance of regular connections. After this earthquake, diverse investigations have been started to clarify reasons of these failures and surveying new methods for their rehabilitation. Behavior of beam to column connections can be improved by shifting the location of inelasticity away from column’s face. Such connections can be achieved by reducing flange area of beams at a specific distance from column’s face, and they have been approved by various design codes. Another kind of these connections can be achieved by perforating beam’s web. Research on latter case shows that, if...

Abstract
Seismic behavior of beam-to-column connections can be improved by shifting the location of inelasticity away from the column’s face. Such connections can be achieved by reducing the flange area at a specific distance from the beam-column connection, called reduced beam section (RBS), or by reducing web area by introducing a perforation into the web, called reduced web section (RWS). This paper presents a parametric study that is carried out on the effect of the perforation size, perforation location, and the beam span length in the RWS connections, using finite element modeling. Next, an interaction formula is derived for design purposes, and a step by step design method is developed....

Abstract
Intrusion detection systems (IDS) are tools located inside computer networks that analyze the network traffics. In this paper, a novel fuzzy-evolutionary system is presented to effectively detect the intrusion in computer networks. This system utilizes a hybridization of simulated annealing heuristic and tabu search algorithm to improve the accuracy of fuzzy if-then rules as intrusion detectors. Each of these algorithms has its advantageous and disadvantageous. Using the hybrid model of both algorithms, the proposed system employs the good features of them to improve the accuracy of obtained rules. Evaluation of the proposed system is done on the KDDCup99 Dataset which has information about...

Abstract
The ratio of the two first non-trivial Dirichlet eigenvalues is the subject of the Payne-Polya-Weinburger Conjecture and Inequality. The PPW Conjecture was proven by M. Ashbaugh and R. Benguria. Ashbaugh and Benguria later proved a similar result for domains on the n-sphere. On the other hand, discrete counterparts of universal inequalities from (continuous) have been studied in the graph theory setting. This thesis surveys results related to the PPW inequality on graphs

Abstract
The depth of anaesthesia estimation has been of a great interest in recent decades. In this paper we present a new methodology to quantify the depth of anaesthesia by quantifying the power-law correlations of the EEG signal. Extraction of useful information about the nonlinear dynamics of the brain during anaesthesia has been proposed with the optimum fractal scaling exponent. This optimum solution is based on the best domain of box sizes in the detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) algorithm which have meaningful changes at different depth of anaesthesia. The experimental results confirm that our new algorithm on the raw EEG data can clearly discriminate between aware to moderate and deep...

Abstract
Voluntary turnover has direct and indirect expenses for organizations and for this purpose; it has one of the richest literatures in academic works. Due to the especial role of knowledge workers in organizations, these expenses in knowledge-based organizations are more important and more costly than that of other organizations. One of the latest theories in the field of voluntarily turnover was introduced by Lee and Mitchell (1994) that was named “Unfolding Model of Turnover” to describe the process of decision of voluntary turnover. This theory is distinguished from its similar theories from two main aspects: First, they introduced new elements like shock. Second, they introduced...
