This paper presents an in-depth exploration of Quantum Spread Spectrum Code Division Multiple Access (QSSCDMA) communication systems. By manipulating the shape of quantum photon wavepackets and utilizing high-speed electro-optical modulators, we demonstrate the potential for spread spectrum encoding of quantum states of light for CDMA communication systems. Visible light communication (VLC) uses LED lights for simultaneous illumination and data transmission. The throughput of a VLC network is highly dependent on the location of VLC access points (AP). In this paper, we propose a novel optimization framework for approximately optimal VLC AP placement which takes into account the stationary distribution of users for the first time. This distribution is the result of the mobility pattern of users in an indoor environment. In this paper, a new approach toward the optimization of Access Point (AP) placement in cellular Visible light Communication (VLC) networks is proposed based on the projected gradient algorithm. The objective of the optimal placement problem is to maximize the average throughput of the network subject to constraints on the minimum illumination level and the minimum rate of the users. Abstract
This paper presents a novel approach to data-driven facility location balancing that leverages the power of machine learning (ML) and Shannon entropy. We introduce a ML algorithm that, for the first time, employs nearest neighbor methods for stochastic gradient estimation to learn continuous-space facility locations from data. This innovative approach achieves a speedup of two orders of magnitude over traditional methods. Evaluated through a proposed adjusted entropy ratio metric, our method improves load balancing by 62% compared to k -means, particularly in densely populated areas where k- means falls short. The long-term performance of LiFi networks significantly depends on the location of access points. The optimized placement can be determined based on the distribution of users in the room. In this paper, we investigate the placement optimization for average throughput maximization in the presence of asymmetric distributions. In particular, we represent users' distribution in the indoor environment by the Gaussian mixture model, which is powerful and computationally convenient. While human values play a crucial role in making arguments persuasive, we currently lack the necessary extensive datasets to develop methods for analyzing the values underlying these arguments on a large scale. To address this gap, we present the Touché23-ValueEval dataset, an expansion of the Webis-ArgValues-22 dataset. We collected and annotated an additional 4 780 new arguments, doubling the dataset's size to 9 324 arguments. In this paper, we study theoretically the generation of high repetition rate short pulses using fiber optical parametric amplification. We show that the pulse shape and duration depend on the signal location relatively to the pump frequency. We demonstrate that in order to get the shortest pulse width, the signal must be located at one of the extremities of the gain spectrum associated with the pump peak power. This paper reports a polarization controllable and angle-insensitive perfect metamaterial absorber (PMA). The proposed PMA consists of periodically arranged asymmetric omega-shaped resonators made of metallic copper. The absorptivity was analyzed considering the microwave C-band from 4 GHz to 8 GHz. The mixed nano-ferrites materials Cu0.6Zn0.4HoxFe2−xO4 (0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.12) were prepared via the sol–gel auto combustion technique. The TGA curve established the annealing temperature (500 °C) for phase formation. The single exothermic peak on the DSC plot occurred at 341 °C temperature. In the study presented herein, a simple method for laboratory calcite cementation of a reconstituted gravelly sand was presented. This method was used to prepare cemented gravelly sand specimens, which have similar natural characteristics to alluvial deposit of the city of Tehran.
