  8. Woven composites are widely used in various industries today due to their good mechanical properties, cost-effective manufacturing, and design versatility. However, predicting the properties of these composites is not straightforward due to the complexity of their weave structures. Therefore, providing a tool to predict these properties is considered important. Woven composites are typically made from a repeating pattern of threads interlaced in specific ways. These threads themselves consist of fibers and a matrix in the composite. Given these details and differences, multi-scale models are proposed to predict the properties of composites. In brief, at the micro scale, we deal with fibers and the matrix; at the meso scale, with yarns and the matrix; and at the macro scale, with the entire structure. In meso-scale modeling, the initiation of failure is determined using failure criteria such as Tsai-Wu, Hashin, maximum stress, maximum strain, etc., and the failure in the composite is then modeled using progressive damage models
