- Tinnitus is the sensation of hearing sound in the ear or head without the presence of an external sound source. Until today, this disease has no definitive treatment, but various methods, including transcranial electrical stimulation, are used to improve it. One of the methods that has been used in the last decade to improve tinnitus is transcranial random noise stimulation (tRNS), which has been shown to be effective many times. In this method, which is one of the non-invasive methods, using two electrodes, a stimulation signal with a random amplitude in a specified limit and a random frequency in a specified frequency band is applied. In this research, by designing and implementing a laboratory protocol, for the first time simultaneous recording of EEG-fMRI brain signals was done during the application of tRNS to investigate tinnitus stimulation. The results show that tRNS can increase the relative power of the alpha band in the brain of healthy people, strengthen weakened functional connections, and increase the areas and intensity of synchronization of alpha band activity in the brain of tinnitus patients. With this method, the probability of patients' response to treatment can be predicted according to the characteristics of their brain signals. The results of this thesis can be a start to offer personalized treatments to tinnitus patients according to their brain characteristics and create a revolution in tinnitus treatment
