  8. Lightweight drilling cement plays a crucial role when drilling in low-pressure formations. In such conditions, the reservoir pressure is lower than the hydrostatic pressure of the drilling fluids, increasing the likelihood of fluid infiltration into the formation. Drilling cement has multiple functions, including securing the casing pipes, preventing fluid migration into the formation or from the formation into the wellbore. In low-pressure formations, special attention must be paid to the cement weight to avoid increased pressure that could lead to formation invasion. Lightweight drilling cement is formulated using low-density materials and lighter properties to prevent excessive pressure on the formation. This type of cement reduces the weight of the casing and drill string, which is beneficial for drilling operations, while also preventing drilling fluid leakage into the formation. Various nanoparticles, such as nano silica, nickel nanoparticles, alumina nanoparticles, nano-montmorillonite (nano-bentonite), carbon nanotubes, and other nanoparticles, can be used. Incorporating nano silica, nickel nanoparticles, and alumina nanoparticles can significantly enhance the strength of the cement used in the process. The nanoparticles added to the cement can either be of the same composition as the cement itself (silica oxide, iron oxide, and alumina) or other compounds (e.g., carbon nanotubes) that impart specific desired properties to the cement. Due to their high surface-area-to-volume ratio, nanoparticles can be utilized to: Accelerate the hydration process, improve compressive and flexural strength, Control fluid loss, Reduce the risk of casing collapse, enhance bonding between the cement, casing, and formation (preventing gas migration) in oil well cementing
