  5. Optimal sensor placement for a single source extraction has been studied recently. In the current paper, a criterion to optimally placing the sensors for source separation of the noisy mixtures is proposed. Moreover, it is described how a blind source separation (BSS) method can be used to estimate the spatial gains from the measurements of the already placed sensors to enhance the placement of the remaining sensors. Numerical simulations show that the proposed criterion outperforms the previous criterion in source extraction from the noisy mixtures, and illustrates its efficiency in sensor placement for source separation. © 2023 European Signal Processing Conference, EUSIPCO.
