  8. Software Product Line (SPL) is an approach used to develop a range of software products with a high degree of similarity. In this approach, a feature model and a reference architecture are usually used to keep track of similarities and differences. Each product of the SPL has their own architecture too. Software Architecture (SA) generally has a considerable influence on software quality attributes. Coordination of software architecture to the requirements of the stakeholders and avoiding common mistakes and faults in designing SA increases the chance of success of the project and satisfaction of the stakeholders. Making the wrong decisions during the architectural design phase usually proves very costly later on. Despite the wrong decisions during architecture design, alternation on the artifacts related to the software architecture such as core assets, feature model, and reference architecture, degrade level of the software quality attributes. Refactoring is a method which helps in detecting and avoids complications, improving the internal characteristics of software, while keeping the external behavior intact. In this dissertation, a framework to for refactoring software architecture in SPL is introduced. Because of the nature of the SPL which have multiple views on SA including variation management models, reference architecture models, and product models; designed framework also have multiple views on refactoring SPL architecture. The proposed approach uses components that were presented in every view on refactoring SPL architecture. The com ponents in every view presented in separated chapters in this dissertation. Each view on refactoring SPL architecture was validated using proper approaches. On of the main concerns in designing general approach of the framework is to maximum the amount of automaticity in performing refactoring process. This framework can automatically match refactoring patterns and perform refactoring activities, and check behavior preservation of performing refactoring activities
