In this thesis we have designed and fabricated a digitally controlled bias chip for a transceiver which can be programmed by its digital interface. In this thesis, briefly we review basics of voltage regulators and methods for controlling them. Then we introduce high voltage 0.18um CMOS technology. Platinum extraction from the spent reforming catalysts in iodine-iodide solutions at temperatures from 25 to 95 °C was investigated. The reforming catalyst mostly consists of a porous gamma alumina support with metallic platinum finely dispersed on the walls of the nano-pores of the catalyst support. The effect of a variety of factors, including catalyst particle size, impeller agitation speed, reactant concentrations, liquid to solid mass ratio, temperature and the solution pH on the Pt extraction rate and recovery were investigated. Stress Absorbing Membrane Interlayer (SAMI) is a slightly thin layer made of bitumen and aggregate placed between a pavement with limited cracking and overlay in order to avoid reflective cracking in overlay. SAMI’s performance depends on many factors such as pavement layer’s materials and thickness and existing pavement’s condition. Numerical simulations are powerful tools to evaluate SAMI’s performance. The disposal of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) as persistent organic pollutants from the environment has been normally performed by isolation from soil or water because of their biological activity and toxic potential. In the present investigation, catalytic hydrodehalogenation was used to detoxify PCBs-contaminated transformer oil. All reactions were directed on an oil containing 11.09 wt% of PCBs utilizing palladium supported on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Pd/MWCNTs). The mechanical interaction of a tilting anchor and cancellous bones of various densities was simulated using finite element modeling. The model enjoyed a sophisticated representation of the bone, as an elasto-plastic material with large deformation capability. The anchor's tilting action during implantation phase, as well as its fixation stiffness during pull-out test, were predicted by the model and a parametric study was performed to investigate the effects of the anchor's distal width and corner fillet radius, on these measures.
