    Abstract
    This thesis proposes a probabilistic framework to increase situational awareness about serviceability of infrastructure systems, and extend and distribution of losses in the posthazard state of communities. Maintaining situational awareness is the first and foremost step in prioritizing search and rescue operations and organizing resources. This is a challenging task due to the uncertainties that exist in infrastructure systems’ performance after occurrence of a hazardous event.     Fabrication of Silicon Nanowires with various Silicon Substrates and Investigation of the structural Properties and their Behavior

    Abstract
    In this thesis, Silicon nanowires were synthesized using carbothermal method via Vapor-Liquid-Solid mechanism catalyzed by gold nanoparticles deposited on various substrates. Silicon nanowires just grew on (100) and (111)-oriented silicon substrates. For a particular set of process parameters, we observed a critical thickness of the nucleating gold film, that had depened on a kind of various substrates. We studied the dependence of the Au-Si alloy droplet size and size distribution on the starting gold film thickness and the annealing conditions.     Abstract
    The growing worldwide demand for less polluting shapes of energy have led to a renewed interest in the use of Micro Combined Heat and Power (Micro CHP) technologies in the residential sector. Micro CHP have been introduced around Iran recently, and expected to diffuse more and more.In this paper, technical and economic studies for the use of Micro CHP in the different climate zones of Iran are executed. These zones are categorized in to five; Tehran, Rasht, Bandar Abbas, Ardebil and Yazd, based on weather conditions.     Abstract
    The problem of joint estimation of the state and input in linear time-invariant dynamical systems is revisited proposing novel sequential Bayesian formulations. An appealing feature of the proposed method is the promise it delivers for updating the covariance matrices of the process and measurement noise in a real-time fashion using asymptotic approximations. The proposed method avoids the direct transmission of the input into predictions of the state using a zero-mean Gaussian distribution for the input.
