    Abstract
    A four-step synthetic strategy was applied to achieve novel methacrylic monomers. 5-Norbornene-2,2-dimethanol was prepared from a Diels–Alder reaction of cyclopentadiene and acrolein, followed by the treatment of the adduct with an HCHO/KOH/MeOH solution. The resulting 1,3-diol (1) was then acetalized with different aromatic aldehydes having OH groups on the ring to produce four spiroacetal derivatives. The reaction of methacryloyl chloride with the phenolic derivatives led to four new methacrylic monomers that were identified spectrochemically (mass, FTIR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectroscopy).     Abstract
    We report the results of the electronic structure calculation of a newly discovered member of the YBCO high-T c family, i.e., Y 3Ba 5Cu 8O 18 (Y358) with T c>100, based on the full-potential linearized augmented plane waves method (FP-LAPW) of density functional theory in the generalized gradient approximation (GGA). The evolution of the number of hole carriers in different sites of the CuO 2 planes and CuO chains has been investigated in comparison with the other YBCO family members, i.e., Y123, Pr123, Y124, and Y247.     We present linear-response density-functional theory calculations for the high-Tc superconductor La2-xBaxCuO4 to study the doping dependence of phonon dispersion. Using the virtual crystal approximation, the doping range up to x = 0.20 is investigated. We find unstable phonon modes that soften around high-symmetry points of the Brillouin zone. These branches are analyzed as a function of doping and pressure.     The electronic structures of PrBa2Cu3O7 (Pr123), Pr2Ba4Cu7O15-y (Pr247), and PrBa2Cu4O8 (Pr124) cuprates have been obtained using density-functional theory in the local spin density approximation plus onsite Coulomb interaction (LSDA + U). Onsite Hubbard correlation, U, has been considered for Pr-f and Cu-d orbitals and the effects of considering these correlation corrections on the Pr-O hybridizations have been inspected. Results imply that the Pr ionization state in Pr123 system is constituted from two different configurations, and the energy of the f states in these two configurations has an important role in superconductivity properties of the system.     Design of a Multi-Phase Wideband Frequency Synthesizer

    In this research, the design of a broadband multi-phase frequency synthesizer, applicable for the multi-path structure in the 5G NR1 transmitter, is investigated. This standard presents new challenges for synthesizer design; The synthesizer in such a system must cover a wide frequency range. On the other hand, since this standard employs Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, it must meet the stringent requirement of integrated phase noise over multiple decades of frequency.     The interaction between fault tolerance and energy consumption is an interesting avenue in the realm of designing embedded systems. In this paper, a scheme for reducing energy consumption in conventional standby-sparing systems is introduced. In the proposed method, the primary unit exploits dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) and dynamic power management (DPM) is employed for the spare unit.
