Second Law Analysis of a Partially Filled Porous Channel, Considering Viscous Dissipation Effects

Abstract
The first and second laws of thermodynamics were investigated analytically for a two dimensional partially filled porous channel. The porous layer is attached to the channel walls in first test case and the second one is a fully filled porous channel. The flow is laminar and steady with constant wall temperature. New analytical solution for temperature, velocity, Bejan and entropy generation number profiles were obtained considering viscous dissipation effects. Abstract
Eight new chitin derivatives have been synthesized via SN2 reaction of primary and secondary amines with tosylchitin. The products were characterized using FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. A degree of substitution ∼ 1 was achieved through this process. In this study, the performance of polyethersulfone (PES) membranes, fabricated by modifying the iron nano-particles (M-Fe3O4), was investigated to remove heavy metals (HM) and Direct red 16 (DR16) dye from water. Cognitive functions such as working memory require integrated activity among different brain regions. Notably, entorhinal cortex (EC) activity is associated with the successful working memory task. In this work, two-dimensional laminar flow and heat transfer across a heated square cylinder, covered by a porous layer in a plane channel have been numerically investigated. The flow and thermal fields inside the porous layer were simulated using BrinkmaneForchmeyer extended Darcy model. Simulations were performed in different Reynolds numbers (Re = 60, 120, 160, and 200), porosities (ω = 0.7, 0.87, and 0.96), solid to fluid thermal conductivity ratios (λR = 10, 200, and 2000) and blockage ratios (BR = 0.5, 0.25 and 0.125). Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a chronic inflammatory disease frequently associated with a deficit in learning and memory. Working memory is an important system for decision making and guidance, which depends on interactions between the ventral hippocampus (vHipp) and the prelimbic prefrontal cortex (plPFC).
