Abstract
This research is a numerical analysis exhaustively investigating two-dimensional (2D) transient convective heat transfer in a differentially heated rectangle, possessing sinusoidal corrugated side walls at constant temperatures. The quadrilateral space is filled with a power-law non-Newtonian fluid, plus the right and left walls are uniformly cooled and heated, respectively. The top and bottom walls are retained as adiabatic and the side walls are recast exploiting sinusoidal corrugated shape. Abstract
Nanocomposites of polypropylene (PP)/ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) blend with montmorillonite-based organoclay were prepared in a solvent blending method. Solvent blending of PP and EPDM in a composition of 50:50 formed a two phase morphology in which EPDM appeared as dispersed phase with irregular shape. The size of dispersed phase reduced significantly to almost spherical domains by addition of the nanoclay. For better dispersion of nanoclay in the PP/EPDM blend, an antioxidant was used as compatibilizer. Abstract
In this study, the main focus was on designing and synthesizing a novel magnetic nanobiocomposite and its application in hyperthermia cancer treatment. Regarding this aim, sodium alginate (SA) hydrogel with CaCl2 cross-linker formed and modified by silk fibroin (SF) natural polymer and halloysite nanotubes (HNTs), followed by in situ Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles preparation. No important differences were detected in red blood cells (RBCs) hemolysis, confirming the high blood compatibility of the treated erythrocytes with this nanobiocomposite. A novel and high potent magnetic nanobiocomposite was prepared based on Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and epichlorohydrin (ECH) cross-linker interactions to form a three-dimensional cross-linked CMC hydrogel followed by silk fibroin (SF) and halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) modifications and further in situ Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) formation.
