    Simulation of static softening behavior of an aluminum alloy after cold strip rolling

    In this work, softening kinetics after cold rolling has been simulated using a coupled finite element-cellular automata model. Firstly, a two-dimensional rigid plastic finite element analysis has been developed to assess strain field and the stored energy accumulation during cold rolling as well as the initial condition of the mesoscopic model. Then, the cellular automata scheme has been employed to calculate the progress of static recrystallization at a given temperature while a dislocation-base model was simultaneously utilized to consider the effect of recovery on static softening process and final microstructures.     Abstract
    Cr and Cr-Al2O3 coatings were electrodeposited from Cr(III) bath with both pulsating and direct current onto copper substrates. Pulsating current resulted in homogeneous films of higher Al2O3 content and lower particle agglomeration than the direct current. Differences were more tangible at shorter duty cycles and pulse frequencies. Pulsating current improved both microhardness and corrosion resistance. The presence of alumina nanoparticles resulted in greater current efficiency, higher film microhardness and better corrosion resistance.     Using 3-D scanned data to analyze and extract pore network plays a vital role in investigation of porous media's characteristics. In this paper, a new simple method is developed to detect pores and throats for analyzing the connectivity and permeability of the network. This automated method utilizes some of the common and well-known image processing functions which are widely accessible by researchers and this has led to an easy algorithm implementation.     The brain is one of the vital organs in the body. The main cerebral distribution center of blood flow in the brain is the circle of Willis (CoW). In more than 50% of healthy brains and in more than 80% of dysfunctional ones, at least one artery of the circle of Willis is absent or underdeveloped.     The effect of NaOH content of electrolyte on the properties of ceramic coatings, produced in silicate solution, was studied. Morphology, chemical analysis, phase composition, and cross-section of the ceramic coatings were investigated by SEM, EDS, XRD, and OM, respectively. The corrosion resistance and corrosion mechanism were also studied using potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in a 3.5% NaCl solution.     Direct discharge of high-strength industrial effluent often upsets municipal wastewater treatment plant processes. This pilot study was undertaken to evaluate the performance of a UASB system in pre-treating effluent from a medium-size traditional slaughterhouse. Experiments were conducted in a continuous flow 500-1 pilot plant initially inoculated with 200 1 municipal anaerobic digested sludge. With an influent COD concentration of 3000-5000 mg/l, the system was started with a loading of 1.8 kg COD/m3.d (F/M of 0.24 kg COD/kg VSS.d) at 25°C.     In this paper, a three-dimensional numerical model is developed to analyze the influence of the Joule heating on flow characteristics of an electroosmotic flow through square cross section micro-channels.     The circulating fluid in natural circulation loops would absorb heat from the hot zone (source) and will transport it to the cold zone (sink) without using of any mechanical pumps or other devices. In the current paper, we study the structure of a graph with minimum Sombor index among all graphs with fixed order and fixed size.     The proliferation of predatory or bogus journals has been recognized as a threat to academic research, and this study was conducted to discover the experiences of authors published in these journals. Eighty authors who had published in journals identified as predatory were surveyed. We asked how the authors learnt about these journals, what they thought about the reputation of the journals, their experiences of peer review and the quality of feedback provided, and whether publication was driven by PhD or job requirements.
