Modeling and Control of In-Flight Object Grasping Inspired by Birds’ Aerial Hunting

Abstract
In this project, modeling and control of grasping phase of flight is investigated inspired by birds’ aerial hunting. For this purpose, grasping mechanism and its challenges in flight is studied. In the following, an explanation about gripper, its design and its performance in flight is given. Both 1-DOF and 2-DOF gripper is modeled. Then, the simulation is evaluated during different test cases. After modeling, optimum trajectory for an air-vehicle in grasping phase is studied and analyzed. When using a 2-DOF gripper instead of a 1-DOF gripper, the vehicle is capable of grasping in different positions and attitudes. Abstract
The dipole in the angular distribution of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) is typically attributed to the Doppler effect and our motion relative to the CMB rest frame. It is expected that observations of large-scale structures (LSS) would also exhibit a related kinematic dipole, helping to confirm the kinematic origin of the CMB dipole. However, numerous studies of the LSS dipole have shown significant discrepancies with predictions based on the CMB. In this study, we assume that the CMB dipole is due to our motion relative to the CMB frame, and using radio source data from NVSS, we calculate the dipole induced by local large-scale structures across different redshift ranges....

Abstract
An effective corrosion inhibitor for steel is Hexamine (HMTA). There have been few studies on its corrosion-inhibiting characteristics, particularly in NaCl solution. The electrochemical characteristics of HMTA performance in NaCl 3.5 wt% solution were examined during this study. Additionally, the properties of the HMTA film on the steel surface was investigated. When tested in NaCl solution, electrochemical results revealed that HMTA is a very efficient corrosion inhibitor for mild steel, with an efficacy of 92% at a concentration of 0.08 M. Abstract: Intelligent pH-sensitive nanocontainers were successfully constructed employing the Layer by Layer (LbL) approach. FESEM, HRTEM, EDS, elemental mapping, zeta-potential, FTIR, TGA, SIMS, UV–Vis, and Tafel polarization examinations were subsequently performed on the nanocontainers. Following the LbL procedure, imaging evaluation using FESEM and HRTEM revealed a 42 percent increase in the diameter of SiO2 nanoparticles with a halo view. Recent years have seen a significant increase in interest in smart anticorrosion coatings, which can detect corrosive situations and autonomously discharge corrosion inhibitors. The mild steel surface was coated with pH-sensitive nanocontainers that had been manufactured and doped into an epoxy coating. In this thesis a smart anticorrosive pH-responsive coat was developed with layer by layer (LbL) technique in the assembly of SiO2/CTAB/PSS/HMTA/PSS/PEI/PSS. SiO2 nanoparticles were prepared from Matland Company (Iran) with average size of 24 nm. At first, the corrosion inhibition of HMTA for API 5L Grade B steel in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution was investigated. Abstract
Tolyltriazole (TTA) is a well-defined corrosion inhibitor for copper and copper alloys. However, there is little literature about its corrosion inhibition performance for mild steels in corrosive environments. This paper studied the electrochemical behavior of TTA in 0.5 M HCl solutions. Also, the morphology and nature of TTA layers on the steel surface were investigated. Electrochemical results showed that TTA is an excellent corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in acidic media with an efficiency of 91% for 0.07 M concentration. Abstract
Smart multilayered pH-sensitive nanocapsules were successfully fabricated using a Layer by Layer (LbL) process. The obtained products were characterized using FESEM, TEM, EDS and elemental mapping, zeta-potential, FTIR, TGA, SIMS and the Tafel polarization techniques. A 55% enhancement in ZrO2 particle size was detected in FESEM and TEM images with a corona view after the LbL process.
