, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Jafari Siavoshani, Mahdi (Supervisor) ; Kavousi, Kaveh (Co-Supervisor) ; Ohadi, Mina (Co-Supervisor)
Abstract
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a strong genetic perturbation that encompasses a wide range of clinical symptoms, including functional at different regions of the brain, repetitive behaviors, and interests, weaknesses in social relationships, some sensitivities to environmental factors and etc. Genetic complexity and the impact of environmental factors put the disease in the category of Level 1 complex developmental disorders. We proposed a pilot, combined, and highly effective structure to identify biomarkers in the autism spectrum disorder that could be extended to other diseases that have a similar genetic architecture with autism. We also develop a Gene-tissue interaction network to...
Adversarial Convex Bandit
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Alishahi, Kasra (Supervisor)
Abstract
Multi armed bandit is a simple framework for modeling sequential decision making problems. A learner should choose between some arms at every time step and gains the reward of corresponding chosen arm. The environment is unknown to the learner, so he should make a balance between staying with the option that gave highest payoffs in the past and exploring new options that might give higher payoffs in the future known as exploration vs exploitation dilemma. The goal is finding a policy that minimizes the regret, which is a performance measure of the learner policy. We can make assumptions on how the rewards are generated, like stationary stochastic model, but we abandon almost all of them and...

, Article IEICE Electronics Express ; Volume 7, Issue 19 , 2010 , Pages 1447-1452 ; 13492543 (ISSN) ; Faez, R ; Hoseini, H. R ; Sharif University of Technology

Abstract
InAlAs/InGaAs/InP high electron mobility transistors have higher mobility comparing to structures without indium. But existence of indium causes smaller Eg and as a result smaller breakdown voltage. However, increasing percentage of indium results in higher mobility and as a result higher current and transconductance. Therefore decreasing percentage of indium causes higher breakdown voltage at the sometime lower transconductance. One of the most important parameters that limit maximum output power of transistor is breakdown voltage. In this paper, InAIAs/InGaAs/InP HEMTs with different structures are simulated and a structure with a good transconductance and breakdown voltage is introduced

Abstract
Based on the closed-form solution of a one-dimensional wave equation, the primary, secondary and acoustic feedback paths for the active control of sound in an acoustic duct have been investigated. Accurate models for the condenser microphone and loudspeaker, which include both the electro-mechanical and mechano-acoustical couplings as well as acoustical damping, have been considered. A generalized form of the filtered-x least mean square (FXLMS) algorithm that uses a more general recursive adaptive weight update equation to improve the performance of the FXLMS algorithm has been developed. Computer simulations were carried out to investigate the performance of acoustical feedback and...

Abstract
The exact closed-form solution of a one-dimensional wave equation including the viscous damping effect has been obtained from the Green's function. Accurate models for the error sensor and secondary loudspeaker, which includes the electro-mechanical and mechano-acoustical couplings, have been used and the transfer function of the primary, secondary and acoustic feedback paths of the active noise control system have been obtained. The generalized form of the classical FXLMS algorithm, referred to G-FXLMS algorithm, has been developed. In contrast to the FXLMS algorithm, G-FXLMS algorithm does not neglect the time shift of the filter coefficients and employs a more general recursive adaptive...

Abstract
The single-reference/multi-output active noise control (ANC) of an accurate physical model of an acoustic duct system has been investigated. Computer model of a multi-channel ANC system with tonal and sweep sine input signals, and an adaptive feedforward algorithm that minimizes the generic cost function are developed. Results obtained for various single-input/single-output (SISO) configurations of ANC systems were compared. The dynamic response of a single-reference/multi-output ANC system, using Minimax and MEFXLMS algorithms, is studied and the effect of acoustical feedback neutralization in a multi-channel ANC system is studied. Simulation results demonstrate that the multi-channel...

Abstract
The use of adaptive feedforward controllers has proven to be a very successful strategy for controlling noise and vibration in a variety of applications. One reason is that the feedforward controller is an open loop controller, which can be designed to cancel the undesired noise in one position with any accuracy. However, the feedforward controller requires an input signal, called a reference signal, correlated to the noise source. As a consequence, a single reference controller can only reduce noise radiated from a single noise source. In many applications, there is a need to attenuate noise produced by several noise sources. In this paper, three different structures, single, modulating and...

Abstract
Dynamic and stability analysis of non-uniform Timoshenko beam under axial loads is carried out. In the first case of study, the axial force is assumed to be perpendicular to the shear force, while for the second case the axial force is tangent to the axis of the beam column. For each case, a pair of differential equations coupled in terms of the flexural displacement and the angle of rotation due to bending was obtained. The parameters of the frequency equation were determined for various boundary conditions. Several illustrative examples of uniform and non-uniform beams with different boundary conditions such as clamped supported, elastically supported, and free end mass have been...

Abstract
Supplier selection is an important and challenging problem in sustainable supply chain management. We propose a dynamic decision support system (DSS) for sustainable supplier selection in circular supply chains. Unlike the linear take-make-waste-dispose production systems, circular supply chains are nonlinear make-waste-recycle production systems with zero-waste vision. The proposed DSS allows users to customize and weight their economic, social, and circular criteria with a fuzzy best-worst method (BWM) and select the most suitable supplier with the fuzzy inference system (FIS). Machine learning is used to maintain and synthesize the criteria scores for the suppliers after each supplier...

Abstract
In the eld of supply chain, selecting a suitable green supplier could signi cantly help us decrease the cost and risks of the operations and increase the quality of green supply. This paper develops an integrated two-stage approach based on Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) and multi-objective mixed-integer linear programming to select suppliers and allocate order in the green supply chain. In the rst stage, suppliers are evaluated using FAHP method and in the second stage, a multi-product multi-period supply chain is developed considering green location-routing problem, discounting, and time window under uncertainty. Then, a fuzzy solution approach is applied to solve the proposed...

Abstract
The increasing level of customer awareness and application of environmental laws by governments, on the one hand, and the increasing number of competitors, on the other hand, has obliged industry owners to include green activities in the design of the supply chain network. Green activities include any type of action that reduces environmental degradation. Hence, this study seeks to develop a bi-objective, mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model for designing a green supply chain network. In the proposed model, the minimisation of costs and detrimental environmental effects are discussed. LP metric method is used to solve the bi-objective model and the proposed model is run by using...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Rashtchian ,Davood (Supervisor) ; Adibi, Mina (Supervisor)
Abstract
Supported Ionic Liquid Membranes (SILMs) are fabricated by saturating the pores of a porous support with ionic liquids. To assess the performance of SILMS, it is necessary to obtain data about the properties of ionic liquids such as diffusivity, solubility, and etc. To accomplish this task, in this project the permeability and diffusivity of CO2 and CH4 through three immidazolium-based ionic liquids: [bmim][PF6], [hmim][Tf2N], and "1-methyl-3-(3- tri methoxi silil propyl) imidazolium bis (tri fluoro methyl solphonyl)" , in the temperature range between 27-45 ℃ and pressures within 10-50 kPa, are measured. It is shown in data validation section that the results of this study are in good...

Automated Code Reviewer Recommendation for Pull Requests
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Heydarnoori, Abbas (Supervisor)
Abstract
Nowadays, by distributed software development growth based on pull-requests, it is possible to review code changes before integrating into the master program by a third-party, informally and tool-based which is called Modern Code Review (MCR). Effectively performing MCR can facilitate the software evolution phase through reducing post-release defects. In MCR, after sending the pull request, the developer invites appropriate reviewers to inspect his code. Due to the high volume of requests and potential reviewers in many projects, selecting the appropriate reviewer is difficult and time consuming. Previously, a variety of recommender systems have been proposed that use methods based on...
Process Design of Ionic Liquid-Based CO2 Capture with Consideration of Economic and Environmental Issues
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Rashtchian, Davood (Supervisor) ; Adibi, Mina (Co-Supervisor)
Abstract
Concerns have increased about global warming caused by CO2 emissions in the atmosphere. At the moment, carbon capture and storage is the best available solution. Among the current technologies for CCS, amine-based chemical absorption appears to be the most common method. Amines show several inherent drawbacks such as high vapor pressure, high energy consumption in regeneration, corrosivity and degradability. So, researchers have developed new solvents with the foresight of being superior to amines. Ionic liquids (ILs) are among the most suitable alternatives. The most prominent feature of ILs is their tunable thermophysical properties. In this work, physical absorption by ILs is chosen as...

Abstract
Maximizing the value of resources and producing less waste are strategic decisions affecting sustainability and competitive advantage. Sustainable closed-loop supply chains (CLSCs) are designed to minimize waste by circling back (repairing, reselling, or dismantling for parts) previously discarded products into the value chain. This study presents a novel two-stage fuzzy supplier selection and order allocation model in a CLSC. In Stage 1, we use the fuzzy best-worst method (BWM) to select the most suitable suppliers according to economic, environmental, social, and circular criteria. In Stage 2, we use a multi-objective mixed-integer linear programming (MOMILP) model to design a...
