    Chaotic inflation with time-variable space dimensions

    Abstract
    Assuming the space dimension is not constant but decreases during the expansion of the Universe, we study chaotic inflation with the potential m2φ2/2. Our investigations are based on a model Universe with variable space dimensions. We write down field equations in the slow-roll approximation, and define slow-roll parameters by assuming the number of space dimensions decreases continuously as the Universe expands. The dynamical character of the space dimension shifts the initial and final value of the inflation field to larger values. We obtain an upper limit for the space dimension at the Planck length.     Abstract
    Within the framework of a model Universe with time variable space dimensions (TVSD), known as decrumpling or TVSD model, we study TVSD chaotic inflation and obtain dynamics of the inflaton, scale factor and spatial dimension. We also study the quantum fluctuations of the inflaton field and obtain the spectral index and its running in this model. Two classes of examples have been studied and comparisons made with the standard slow-roll formulas. We compare our results with the recent Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) data. © World Scientific Publishing Company

    A new magnetic nano-adsorbent was synthesized via the radical polymerization of methyl acrylate on modified Fe3O4 nanoparticles, followed by its functionalization by amidation of the methyl ester groups using pentaethylenehexamine, to create active adsorption sites for removing anionic dyes from aqueous media.     The purpose of this study is to determine a function which estimate fuel/air equivalence ratio distribution inside combustion chamber of spark ignition engine for pollution minimization and maximum efficiency. To do this, we developed a code by which, we are able to model one SI engine cycle.
    Seven distributions for fuel/air equivalence ratio were examined which include: Homogeneous, linearly decreasing, linearly increasing, sinusoidal increasing and decreasing, sinusoidal decreasing and increasing, cosinusodal decreasing, and cosinusodal increasing.     In this study Active Learning Method (ALM) as a novel fuzzy modeling approach is compared with optimized Support Vector Machine (SVM) using simple Genetic Algorithm (GA), as a well known datadriven model for long term simulation of daily streamflow in Karoon River. The daily discharge data from 1991 to 1996 and from 1996 to 1999 were utilized for training and testing of the models, respectively. Values of the Nash-Sutcliffe, Bias, R 2, MPAE and PTVE of ALM model with 16 fuzzy rules were 0.81, 5.5 m 3 s -1, 0.81, 12.9%, and 1.9%, respectively.     Abstract
    Comparison of the traditional linear heating method of TPD with an original stepwise heating scheme was reported for the first time. Stepwise heating TPD was carried out by keeping the temperature constant as soon as ammonia desorption signal rises until the signal returns to the baseline. More ammonia desorption peaks on a SAPO-34 catalyst were identified using TPD with stepwise heating. The effect of temperature ramp on desorption peak broadening in TPD curve was also addressed. The more distinct ammonia desorption peaks in stepwise TPD indicates that ammonia adsorbs in about five or six different ways on SAPO-34, and attribution of different adsorptions may be explained considering some...

    Hydrocracking is one of the most versatile petroleum refining processes for production of valuable products including gasoline, gas oil, and jet fuel. In this paper, a five-parameter continuous lumping model was used for kinetic modeling of hydrocracking of vacuum gas oil (VGO). The model parameters were estimated from industrial data obtained from a fixed bed reactor operating at an average temperature of 400°C and residence time of 0.3 h.
