This article presents a process of numerically predicting and experimentally verifying the dispersion quality and penetration level of fuel particles entering and moving in various directions relative to vortex engine walls. If the length scale of particles considered in this study is not comparable to the chamber length and, furthermore, the density is ignored, the effect of the particle on the flow field can be neglected and a one-way solution will be viable for the problem. Abstract
In this study, a new design of graded tubular scaffolds have been developed for the performance enhancement in vascular tissue engineering. The graded poly-L-lactide (PLLA) and gelatin fibrous scaffolds produced by electrospining were then characterized. The morphology, degradability, porosity, pore size and mechanical properties of four tubular scaffolds (graded PLLA/gelatin, layered PLLA/gelatin, PLLA and gelatin scaffolds) have been investigated. Using of nano-scale Very Large-Scale Integration technologies in Network-on-Chips (NoCs), switches and communication wires of NoCs are sensitive to transient faults. In the architecture of NoCs, switches play an important role in the correct and reliable functions of NoCs against transient faults. The most important transient faults in NoCs are crosstalk faults in wires and Single Event Upset (SEU) and Multipl Event Upset (MBU) faults in buffers. In this research, bioactive glass (BG) of the type CaO-P2O 5-SiO2 and nanocrystalline forsterite (NF) bioceramic were successfully synthesized via sol-gel processing method. Heat-treatment process was done to obtain phase-pure nanopowders. After characterization of each sample, the nanocomposite samples were prepared by cold pressing method and sintered at 1000°C. The samples were fully characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analyses. In this paper, a Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) fuel cell power system including burner, steam reformer, heat exchanger, and water heater has been considered. A PEM fuel cell system is designed to meet the electrical, domestic hot water, heating, and cooling loads of a residential building located in Tehran. Operating conditions of the system with consideration of the electricity cost has been studied. The cost includes social cost of the environmental pollutants (e.g. CO 2, CO and NO). A new method has been employed in this research that optimizes a power generation system by maximizing the first and second law efficiencies and minimizing the entropy generation. Mass flow rates of pollutants and related external social cost of air pollution have been considered in estimating the electricity production cost. The effects of regenerative and CHP heat exchangers on power production, efficiencies, and production cost have been evaluated. The results show that a single regenerative heat exchanger lowers NOx, CO, and CO 2 emissions by 15%, 40%, and 0.4%, respectively, and decreases the electricity production cost by nearly 18%. Detection of seizure periods in an epileptic patient is an important part of health care. However, due to the variety in types of seizures and location of them, real-time seizure detection is not straight forward.
