Due to the long physical distance between the users and the cloud data centers, the idea of considering fog layer was established to bring computations closer to the edge of the network, and provide a solution for latency-sensitive applications. In such applications, the tasks are offloaded, and assigned to the available virtual machines in the cloud or fog layers, which directly contribute to Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. Abstract
Two different groups of radiative models are used to simulate a Midrex reformer. The modeling includes the furnace-side as well as the reactor-side equations. The simultaneous solution of governing equations provides the flue gas and tube wall temperature profiles. These are compared with literature and plant data. It was observed that the Flux model, applied in this work on the furnace of a bottom-fired reformer, shows a good agreement with observed plant data. The well-stirred model is still satisfactory but the long-furnace model is far away to merit an attention. © 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved

Abstract
While the Guarantee Ratio (GR) is critically important in delay-sensitive fog applications, the existing deadline-aware task assignment strategies prioritize the balance of utilization over this criterion. Therefore, this paper introduces FUSION: a fuzzy-based task management policy, which provides a high GR with the least possible makespan. FUSION considers the effect of propagation, uplink/downlink delays, and also the bandwidth between the layers on the tasks' completion time during offloading. Abstract
In this research, the effects of preparation conditions, including the coagulation bath temperature, polymer solution composition, preliminary drying time, and thickness of cast polymeric films, on the morphology of ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer membranes were investigated with scanning electron microscopy and nitrogen gas permeability tests. Flat sheet membranes were prepared through a thermal-wet phase-inversion method. Scanning electron microscopy pictures showed asymmetric structures for some of the membranes. Abstract
The gas separation properties of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) membranes containing 18 and 28 wt% of vinyl acetate (VA) were investigated in this study. The effects of membrane preparation conditions, such as thermal and thermal/wet phase inversion, and the type of solvent on the gas separation properties of EVA membranes were investigated. The permeation of pure O2, N2, CH4, and CO2 gases at different feed pressures ranging from 2 to 11 bar were examined. The results indicated that the CO2 permeability was evidently higher than those of the other gases. Crumb Rubber is one of the main polymer modifiers of binders. This modifier can improve chip seal performance against ravelling (aggregate loss). The most concerning distress in chip seal is ravelling. Aggregate loss is not restricted to the early life of chip seal, but continues throughout the service life. Abstract
Partial purification of plant peroxidase from turnip (Brassica rapa) was optimized. Aqueous two phase system and precipitation by ammonium sulfate (as two parallel purification methods) were used. Polyethylene glycol/ammonium sulfate/NaCl (25:7:3%, w/v) system followed by gel-filtration chromatography gave a purification factor of about 36 fold. On the other hand, ammonium sulfate precipitation (60-80% deg) followed by gel filtration gave only about 13 purification fold.
