    Predicting freight transportation is crucial since it is often likened to the foundation of society and a pivotal component of its progress. When access to freight data is limited in underdeveloped nations, nighttime light data could serve as a reliable proxy for assessing freight activity.     Abstract
    Economic policies for managing agricultural water use are often complicated by the challenge of using water prices as an efficient economic tool when other non-economic concerns are involved in the decision-making process. This study aims to analyse the impact of water pricing policies on preserving agricultural water resources in Iran. This study applies a system dynamics approach to simulate the system performance and behaviour of stakeholders and the economic implications.     Abstract
    In this study, the failure analysis of a shaft of a unit, which had been failed during the service, was studied. This shaft was welded to the blades, and their chemical compositions were determined by spectroscopy method. In order to determine the root cause of failure and contribution factors, different investigation methods including visual examination, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscope analysis, and hardness test were carried out. It was concluded that the shaft was failed due to fatigue. The failure was caused by improper welding of blades to the shaft. At the end, in order to prevent or decelerate such failure, some recommended remedies were suggested

    Abstract
    An efficient algorithm for the design optimization of the compressible fluid flow problem through a flexible structure is presented. The methodology has three essential parts: first the behavior of compressible flow in a supersonic diffuser was studied numerically in quasi-one-dimensional form using a flux splitting method. Second, a fully coupled sequential iterative procedure was used to solve the steady state aeroelastic problem of a flexible wall diffuser. Finally, a robust Genetic Algorithm was implemented and used to calculate the optimum shape of the flexible wall diffuser for a prescribed pressure distribution. © 2006 Elsevier Ltd.     This paper presents a method to determine material of an unknown sample object. The main objective of this study is to design a database for specifying material of an object. We produce the database for different materials which is subjected to different forces. For this purpose we use a Polyvinidilene Fluoride (PVDF) sensor which is a piezoelectric material.     Vibration control is an essential problem in different structure. Smart material can make a structure smart, adaptive and self-controlling so they are effective in active vibration control. Piezoelectric elements can be used as sensors and actuators in flexible structures for sensing and actuating purposes.     This research presents a technique to recover the dispersion curves of guided-waves by utilizing the inherent sparsity of these signals in the frequency-wavenumber domain. The proposed methodology is a data-driven approach that combines physics-based knowledge with high-dimensional analysis to obtain the dispersion curves of the medium from experimental signals. Initially, a sparse two-dimensional dispersion matrix is constructed using sparse wavenumber analysis.     Abstract
    Neisseria meningitides is one of the causative agents of the deadly bacterial meningitis disease, and its rapid diagnosis is highly required. In this study, at first, a specific single-chain variable fragment (scFv) antibody-conjugated Au NPs with average size of ~ 20 nm and surface plasmon resonance absorption peak at ~ 530 nm in wavelength were synthesized. Then, the NPs were loaded on nitrocellulose membrane pads for designing a selective lateral flow immunoassay test strip which is sensitive to the factor H protein of Neisseria meningitidis.     Too much effort has been done for manipulating individual atoms, using nano-manipulators and Scanning Tunneling Microscopes (STM). On the other hand, characterization and manipulation of nano-flows is of great concern.     The stress distribution on open-ended Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) embedded in a composite material is considered in this work and an analytical solution for the stress distribution has been obtained. The effects of CNT's thickness and CNT's length on the distribution of stress have been investigated. To find the governing relations, continuity equations of the axisymmetric problem in cylindrical coordinate (r,o,z) are used.
