Abstract
An improved compression algorithm for ECG signals is presented using temporal alignment of beats and 2-D wavelet packet transform (WPT). This 2-D transform based approach utilizes the fact that the electrocardiogram (ECG) signals generally show two types of correlation, namely correlation between subsequent samples within each ECG cycle (intrabeat) and correlation between subsequent cycles (interbeat). One simple compression algorithm in the 2-D WPT domain, which is applied to some records in the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database shows lower percent root mean square difference (PRD) than 1-D wavelet based compression methods for the same compression ratio (CR). © 2001 IEEE

Abstract
Careful studies of coupling show that transmittance power between microring and waveguide is dependant to field intensity. Also more researches show that optical multistable behavior of microring had been affected by nonlinear power coupling efficiency in high field intensities. Operation of microring in nonlinear regions can be so useful in designing all optical switches and control techniques. Abstract
The seismic behavior of stainless-steel built-up box columns subjected to constant axial loads and cyclic lateral deformation that are used in special moment frames (SMFs) has been investigated through finite element (FE) analysis. A total of 208 numerical models were conducted to cover a range of parameters affecting the seismic behavior of the columns. These include the web slenderness ratio, flange slenderness ratio, global slenderness ratio, axial load level, and lateral loading protocol. The performance indices of overstrength factor, axial shortening, out-of-plane deformation, plastic hinge length, and rotation capacity were calculated and compared. A mathematical model is developed for analysis the dynamics of an intra-cavity laser spectroscopy and mode competition using the CO2 laser as the coherent source. The governing equations of system are derived and effect of the absorbing material on the laser modes, as a time-dependent term is considered. Abstract
The high degree of intensity values in microring resonators needs a careful treatment of nonlinear phenomena. Nonlinear effects are analyzed in coupling problem of ring-ring directional couplers. It has been observed that the nonlinearity affects the coupling device dramatically, and can be used as controlling techniques in such as coupled resonator optical waveguides. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. Abstract
This paper presents a novel model for designing a reliable network of facilities in closed-loop supply chain under uncertainty. For this purpose, a bi-objective mathematical programming formulation is developed which minimizes the total costs and the expected transportation costs after failures of facilities of a logistics network. To solve the model, a new hybrid solution methodology is introduced by combining robust optimization approach, queuing theory and fuzzy multi-objective programming. Abstract
Solvatochromic parameters (E T N , normalized polarity parameter; π, dipolarity/polarizability; β, hydrogen-bond acceptor basicity; α, hydrogen-bond donor acidity) have been determined for binary mixtures of propan-2-ol, propan-1-ol, ethanol, methanol and water with recently synthesized ionic liquid (IL; 2-hydroxyethylammonium formate) at 25 °C. In all solutions except aqueous solution, E T N values of the media increase abruptly with the ILs mole fraction and then increase gradually to the value of pure IL. Abstract
Synchronous heterogeneous catalytic hydrogenation of cyclohexene and acetone, catalyzed by Pt/Al2O3, was carried out in solutions of 2-hydroxy ethylammonium formate (a room temperature ionic liquid, RTIL) with ethanol and propan-1-ol at 25 °C. Rate constants and selectivity of the reaction (relative to cyclohexene hydrogenation) increase with mole fraction of the ionic liquid (IL). The reactants tendency to the catalyst surface increases by addition of the ionic liquid and thus the reaction rate increases, especially for cyclohexene hydrogenation. Abstract
The first example of a heterogeneous catalytically active system for Buchwald–Hartwig and Ullmann homocoupling of unactivated aryl halides (fluorobenzene) is presented. The novel magnetic heterogeneous palladium catalyst was synthesized by immobilization of palladium ions onto an aminopyridine-functionalized Fe3O4. Organic-inorganic hybrid halide perovskite materials have been most attractive for wide range of optoelectronic applications. Investigating the photo-response in these devices will be very useful to understanding cell performance in different conditions and applications. Heterogeneous catalytic hydrogenation of cyclohexene, catalyzed by Pt/Al2O3, was carried out in solutions of 2-hydroxyethylammonium formate (a room temperature ionic liquid, RTIL) mixed with methanol, ethanol and propan-2-ol at 25 °C. Structural and intermolecular interactions of solvatochromic probes 4-nitroaniline, 4-nitroanisole, and Reichardts dye were investigated in the binary mixtures of 2-hydroxy ethylammonium formate as an ionic liquid with N,N-dimethyl formamide, dimethyl amine, and dimethyl sulfoxide.
