Abstract
Effect of different conditions on shear behaviour of rock has been investigated by various researchers. As known, in larger scale the continuity of the rock material is interrupted by separated planes such as bedding planes, faults, shear zones, closure and the behaviour converts to be inelastic and anisotropic. Generally, discontinuities appear repeatedly in more than one preferential direction, creating a three dimensional structure, reducing its stiffness and shear strength as mechanical effects and increasing its transport velocity associated with discontinuity flow as hydraulic effects. Abstract
Dynamic properties of soil, such as shear modulus and damping ratio, are necessary for analyzing the dynamic response of the soil in geostructures. This study investigates the effects of partially inherent anisotropy and stress-induced anisotropy on the shear stiffness of unsaturated soil through a series of dynamic hollow cylinder tests at medium strain levels. The different inherent anisotropy in tested sand specimens was introduced through different compaction water contents in the sample preparation stage while keeping the void ratio nearly constant. Abstract
In this paper, the problem of finding the shortest path between two points in the presence of single-point visibility constraints is studied, In these types of constraint, there should be at least one point on the output path from which a fixed viewpoint is visible. The problem is studied in various domains, including simple polygons, polygonal domains and polyhedral surfaces. The method is based on partitioning the boundary of the visibility region of the viewpoint into a number of intervals. Abstract
In this paper, we study the problem of finding the shortest path between two points inside a simple polygon such that there is at least one point on the path from which a query point is visible. We provide an algorithm which preprocesses the input in O (n2 + n K) time and space and provides logarithmic query time. The input polygon has n vertices and K is a parameter dependent on the input polygon which is O (n2) in the worst case but is much smaller for most polygons. Abstract
We study a constrained version of the shortest path problem in polygonal domains, in which the path must visit a given target polygon. We provide an efficient algorithm for this problem based on the wavefront propagation method and also present a method to construct a subdivision of the domain to efficiently answer queries to retrieve the constrained shortest paths from a single-source to the query point. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg

Abstract
We study a constrained version of the shortest path problem in simple polygons, in which the path must visit a given target polygon. We provide a worst-case optimal algorithm for this problem and also present a method to construct a subdivision of the simple polygon to efficiently answer queries to retrieve the shortest polygon-meeting paths from a single-source to the query point. Abstract
In this paper, the Two-Way Channel (TWC) with noncausal Channel State Information (CSI) is investigated. For the discrete memoryless channel an achievable rate region is derived. Then by extending the result to the Gaussian TWC with additive interference noise, it is shown that the capacity region of the latter channel is the same as the capacity when there is no interference, i.e., a two-way version of Costa's writing on dirty paper problem is established

Abstract
In this paper, the problem of designing waveform for MIMO-SAR systems is investigated. The family of modified Costas pulses (MCP) are used because of their advantages. However, a MIMO-SAR system will not be beneficial unless the waveforms transmitted through different antennas are orthogonal, even under different delay/Doppler shifts. An iterative algorithm is proposed that finds a set of MCPs and guarantees that the maximum cross-correlation (under different Doppler/delay shifts) among different waveforms is below a threshold. Abstract
In this letter, array null steering is formulated as a sparse recovery problem. In addition, a novel null steering scheme for large arrays by perturbing only a few elements is presented. To achieve this goal, compressed sensing (CS) is used to exploit the sparsity of the perturbed elements. The advantages of the proposed scheme are a significant reduction in hardware cost and lower power consumption, as well as less aging of the elements and faster response. Simulation results show that the CS-based method could be efficiently used to generate wide nulls using at least two elements. Abstract
The effect of dielectric cladding on the waveguiding characteristics of an array of metallic pillars on a metal plane in the sub-terahertz band is explored. Firstly, a 2D structure made up of a metallic grating of infinite lateral width with various dielectric overlays is analytically studied to get more insight into the problem. Then the ideas inferred from the 2D structure are applied to the realistic 3D structure that has a finite lateral width. Abstract
Here, nadir echo suppression (NES) in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites is studied in detail. Moreover, advantages of suppressing the nadir echo in space domain, by beamforming, rather than in time domain, which imposes stringent restrictions on radar timing, are addressed. Performing NES in time domain restricts the swath width, as well as the selection of the pulse repetition frequency (PRF). It is shown that the spatial NES could increase the swath width by ∼25%. It also increases the freedom in PRF selection, which is useful in multiple-swath imaging modes and high-resolution wide-swath satellites. Abstract
Ti–6Al–4V and AISI 304 stainless steel were joined by diffusion brazing with a Cu interlayer at 900 °C for different bonding times. The influence of the bonding time on the joint width, microstructure, microhardness and shear strength was studied. Interfacial characterizations and the identification of phases were done by scanning electron microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). The results revealed that by increasing the bonding time, the thickness of the joint was first increased and then decreased.
