    Progress towards macroscopic spin and mechanical superposition via Rydberg interaction

    Abstract
    This paper is a proposal for the generation of a many-body entangled state in atomic and mechanical systems. Here the detailed feasibility study shows that application of a strong Rydberg dressing interaction and a fast bifurcation scheme in a Bose-Einstein condensate of Rb atoms, results in the formation of large cat states. By detailed study of the decoherence effects using the quantum jump Monte Carlo approach and taking into account the obstacles like collective decoherence and level mixing, this proposal predicts the formation of a 700-atom cat state.     The current advances in the field of ultracold atoms and atomic traps recall new controllable long-range interactions. These interactions are expected to extend the range of realizable quantum algorithms as well as provide new control mechanisms for the new types of quantum matters. This Letter presents special interatomic interactions between Rydberg-dressed atoms by manipulating the lasers' linewidth. For most physical implementations, however, it may be advantageous to explore state components and interactions that depart from this universal paradigm and offer faster or more robust access to more advanced operations on the system. In this article, we show that adiabatic passage along the dark eigenstate of excitation exchange interactions can be used to implement fast multiqubit Toffoli (Ck-NOT) and fan-out (C-NOTk) gates.     In this paper, we consider a dual-sourcing model with constant demand and stochastic lead times. Two suppliers may be different in terms of purchasing prices and lead-time parameters. The ordering takes place when the inventory level depletes to a reorder level, and the order is split among two suppliers.
