    Damage Identification in Structures with Lamb Waves and Optimal Sensor Layout Designing

    Abstract
    This study presents the best layout with optimal number of sensors for an arbitrary monitoring area based on reference free damage detection and localization. In recent years, damage detection approaches with the concept of instantaneous baseline measurements in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) with lamb wave propagation are being developed. An array of spars transducers is obligatory in SHM with lamb wave propagation, so that designing the best one is a concern for many researchers. To obtain the best sensors layout, damage localization process should be done for all definable sensors layouts in many different crack positions.     This study presents a new approach for designing optimal sensors layout based on accuracy of defect mapping. It is obtained from combination of the reference-free damage detection technique and the probability-based diagnostic imaging method. Considering damage indices based on continuous wavelet transform of sensors signals, the core of this study involves with development of a database of continuous wavelet transform features of a crack.     To get a more accurate model for simulation of single electron transistors (SETs), we have proposed a new macromodel that includes the ability of electron tunneling time calculation. In our proposed model, we have modified the previous models and applied some basic corrections to their formulas. In addition, we have added a switched capacitor circuit, as a quantizer, to calculate the electron tunneling time. We used HSPICE for high-speed simulation and observed that the simulation results obtained from our model matched more closely with that of SIMON 2.0.     Crumb Rubber is one of the main polymer modifiers of binders. This modifier can improve chip seal performance against ravelling (aggregate loss). The most concerning distress in chip seal is ravelling. Aggregate loss is not restricted to the early life of chip seal, but continues throughout the service life. Chip seal can be made with hot binders or emulsion binders. These two type of binder were modified with 7% and 15% of crumb rubber in applicable way.     In this paper, a novel classification approach is presented. This approach uses fuzzy if-then rules for classification task and employs a hybrid optimization method to improve the accuracy and comprehensibility of obtained outcome. The mentioned optimization method has been formulated by simulated annealing and genetic algorithm. In fact, the genetic operators have been used as perturb functions at the core of simulated annealing heuristic.     Partial purification of plant peroxidase from turnip (Brassica rapa) was optimized. Aqueous two phase system and precipitation by ammonium sulfate (as two parallel purification methods) were used. Polyethylene glycol/ammonium sulfate/NaCl (25:7:3%, w/v) system followed by gel-filtration chromatography gave a purification factor of about 36 fold. On the other hand, ammonium sulfate precipitation (60-80% deg) followed by gel filtration gave only about 13 purification fold.     In the framework of a household’s collective decision processes, this study presents a structural empirical model to test the hypothesis that child labour is compelled by household’s poverty and parent’s bargaining power against one another. To this end, a measure for mother’s intra-household bargaining power is developed. I use Iranian Household’s Income and Expenditures Surveys (2005 and 2010).
