    The Study of Function of Lipase Biocatalyst Immobilized on Silica Nanoparticles Used for Biodiesel Production

    Abstract
    Superparamagnetic core/shell nonporous (S1) and core/shell/shell mesoporous (S2 and S3) nanocomposite magnetite/silica particles with a magnetite cluster core of 130±30 nm, a nonporous silica shell of 90±10 nm thickness, and a mesoporous silica shell of 70±15 nm thickness were prepared thorough a simple method. Mesoporous particles were prepared with two BJH pore sizes (2.44 for S2 and 3.76 nm for S3 particles, respectively). The fabricated S1, S2 and S3 particles present high saturation magnetization values of 20, 13 and 17 emu/g, respectively.     Abstract
    A four-step synthetic strategy was applied to achieve novel methacrylic monomers. 5-Norbornene-2,2-dimethanol was prepared from a Diels–Alder reaction of cyclopentadiene and acrolein, followed by the treatment of the adduct with an HCHO/KOH/MeOH solution. The resulting 1,3-diol (1) was then acetalized with different aromatic aldehydes having OH groups on the ring to produce four spiroacetal derivatives. The reaction of methacryloyl chloride with the phenolic derivatives led to four new methacrylic monomers that were identified spectrochemically (mass, FTIR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectroscopy).     Nonlinearity characteristics, such as backlash, in various mechanisms, limit the performance of feedback systems by causing delays, undesired oscillations and inaccuracy. Backlash influence analysis and modeling is necessary to design a precision controller for this nonlinearity. Backlash between meshing gears in an electromechanical system is modeled by the use of differential equations and a nonlinear spring-damper. According to this model, the paper shows that oscillations and delays cannot be compensated by a state feedback controller.     Nonporous and mesoporous silica-coated magnetite cluster nanocomposites particles were fabricated with various silica structures in order to develop a desired carrier for the lipase immobilization and subsequent biodiesel production. Lipase from Pseudomonas cepacia was covalently bound to the amino-functionalized particles using glutaraldehyde as a coupling agent.
