On the Parametric Study of Tall Buildings with Different Lateral Force Resisting Systems

Abstract
General tall buildings consist of different types of structural systems, such as moment resisting frames, with and without shear walls, braces and outriggers. These types of structure have been widely analyzed by many researchers. However, only a few publications are available on the comparison of these structural systems with different stories. Abstract
Tabas coal sample from Iran was desulfurized with combination of microwave irradiation and peroxyacetic acid washing in a batch reactor. The effect of irradiation time and power, peroxyacetic acid reaction time and temperature and particle size on reduction of sulfur was investigated. For microwaved/acid washed samples, depending on desulfurization conditions, the reduction in pyritic, organic and total sulfur ranged from 26 to 91, 2.6 to 38.4 and 17 to 65%, respectively. Microwave irradiation had positive effect on desulfurization with peroxyacetic acid. Abstract
The results are presented for the investigations of sulfur removal from coal by a mixed culture of microorganisms. Optimal conditions of the process are established (pH, size of coal particles, pulp density, temperature, etc.). They make it possible to reduce the content of pyrite and total sulfur by 91.84 and 53.5%, respectively. Abstract
A sample of Tabas coal from Iran was oxidized using air, peroxyacetic acid (PAA), and PAA+air as a pretreatment for desulfurization with sodium butoxide in a batch reactor. The effects of air oxidation temperature, PAA oxidation time, sodium butoxide reaction time and temperature, solvent concentration and particle size on the reduction of sulfur were investigated. The PAA+air oxidation pretreatment was the most effective method for enhancing sulfur removal. This procedure increased pyritic sulfur removal by approximately 15% and organic sulfur removal by 20% in leaching with sodium butoxide. Abstract
The aim of this research is to create coatings with antibacterial and superhydrophobic properties. To evaluate this, the sourness angle test, bacterial culture and halo diameter test have been used. The results show that 316L stainless steel containing PDMS+TiO2+7%Ag3PO4 coating, which is applied by immersion method on the substrate, has a water contact angle of 152 degrees, the number of bacteria cfu.cm2 is 44000 and the halo diameter is 24 mm. which has the best performance among other examples. Porous PZT-PCN ceramics were fabricated with this formula, “0.8 Pb(Zr1/2Ti1/2)O3-0.2 Pb(Co1/3Nb2/3)O3”, abbreviated as “PZTPCN” by introducing Polyvinyl chloride(PVC) and stearic acid (SA) as pore forming agents (PFA) with varied percentages (5, 10 and 15 wt%). Malaysian secondary schools are facing a shortage of male teachers. Almost 70% of the teaching profession is dominated by female teachers. There is an obvious gap in the reason why teaching is not preferred by the male gender. This study intends to find the determinants of career success among male teachers with the hope of revealing the career success factors that are associated with male teachers. A survey was done among 140 male teachers in secondary schools in the state of Malacca, Malaysia. A multiplexing technique, which is based on duty-cycle division, is proposed. The channel multiplexing and demultiplexing are performed electrically at the single user bit rate, which is very economic. In a three-user system (3×10 Gb/s), the simulation results show that the best receiver sensitivity value achieved is -30.1 dBm with an optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) of 22.3 dB, while the chromatic dispersion tolerance ranges from 192 to 280 ps/nm. Migration from 30 to 120 Gb/s is achieved with the penalty of 6.4 and 5.2 dB in the receiver sensitivity and OSNR, respectively, for the worst user

The method allows researcher to profile the metabolic dynamic from an individual fishes, which contribute to a high resolution of dataset. The nanotubular arrays of titanium dioxide (TiO2 NTs) have recently received considerable interest for fabrication of dental and orthopedic implants. However, their antibacterial activity requires substantial improvement for the potential infections minimization, without compromise of their biocompatibility. In this work, TiO2 NTs were developed on Ti6Al4V substrates via anodization at a constant potential of 60 V for 60 min, followed by heat treatment at 500 °C for 90 min.
