    Kinetic study and growth behavior of template-based electrodeposited platinum nanotubes controlled by overpotential

    Abstract
    Platinum nanotubes (PtNTs) are fabricated by potentiostatic electrodeposition at various overpotentials (−200 up to −400 mV versus SCE) in polycarbonate templates (PCTs) with pore diameter of 200 nm in a solution containing 5 mM H2PtCl6 and 0.1 M H2SO4. The synthesized PtNTs are characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The electrochemical growth mechanism within nanoscopic pores and the relationship between morphological variations and kinetic parameters are investigated for the first time.     Abstract
    Smart coatings which prevent corrosion by several mechanisms recently have been carefully planned. One of these mechanisms is the use of ion exchangers like LDH in the coating network. Since the morphology is the most important properties for the applications that the surface plays an important role, LDH morphology was evaluated in this study.     In this study, the LDH containing a kind of green inhibitor (sodium molybdate) was synthesized and utilized in a poly-vinyl alcohol (PVA) base coating applied on the aluminum (5054 series) surface. After evaluating the LDH performance, the inhibitor release from the LDH crystals was examined by changing significant parameters like MII/MIII (the molar ratio of divalent ions into trivalent ions), pH, aging time and temperature. In order to find the kinetic release of intercalated inhibitor a prediction model was introduced in 3.5% NaCl solution.     The hardness of the Ni-Cr alloy which is electrodeposited in chloride solution, is optimized by design of experiment method (central composite design). Various parameters were evaluated in order to find significant factors in this process. Frequency, duty cycle, current density and temperature were selected as effective factors. Analyses of variance (ANOVA) were performed on the results of the designed experiments.     We propose an effective model for an exponentially expanding universe in the brane-world scenario. The setup consists of a 5D black hole and a brane close to the black hole horizon. In case the brane acquires a specific configuration, which we deduce from stability arguments, the induced metric outside the black hole horizon on the brane becomes de Sitter in static coordinates. Studying the Einstein equations perturbatively we find the effective gravity on the brane at this level and derive the 4D gravitational constant.     The effectiveness of Islamic preaching is often hindered by the need for localized data on societal issues, which leads to lectures that may not address the community's specific needs. This study seeks to bridge this gap by developing a system that provides relevant preaching outlines tailored to issues detected within a 1 km radius of a mosque. The system incorporates data from 185 mosques and is enhanced by integrating societal issues as a feature. Traditional assignment methods often lead to inefficiencies due to misalignment between the preacher’s expertise and congregational needs, as well as logistical issues. This study integrates K-Means clustering and DBSCAN algorithms with interactive geographic visualization to optimize the assignment of preachers to mosques.     Processing time and segmentation quality are two main factors in evaluation of image segmentation methods. Oversegmentation is one of the most challenging problems that significantly degrade the segmentation quality. This paper presents a framework for decreasing the oversegmentation rate and improving the processing time. Significant variations in both color and texture spaces are the main reasons that lead to oversegmentation.     The remarkable rotational symmetry of the photosynthetic antenna complexes of purple bacteria has long been thought to enhance their light harvesting and excitation energy transport. We study the role of symmetry by modeling hypothetical antennas whose symmetry is broken by altering the orientations of the bacteriochlorophyll pigments. We find that in both LH2 and LH1 complexes, symmetry increases energy transfer rates by enabling the cooperative, coherent process of supertransfer.
