    Recently, photoelectrochemical conversion (PEC) of water into fuel is attracting great attention of researchers due to its outstanding benefits. Herein, a systematic study on PEC of water using CuFe2O4/ α-Fe2O3 composite thin films is presented. CuFe2O4/ α-Fe2O3 composite thin films were deposited on two different substrates; (1) planner FTO glass and (2) 3-dimensional nanospike (NSP).     This study describes a novel approach to design of a power factor correction (PFC) and total harmonic distortion (THD) reduction-based brushless DC (BLDC) motor drive. The drive was designed to obtain a reduced THD for PFC. The basic design of the BLDC motor drive contains an AC voltage source as input for a diode bridge rectifier. The output DC voltage is filtered out to reduce ripples. The smooth DC output voltage is supplied to the modified Zeta converter.     We demonstrate for the first time the application of p-NiFe2O4/n-Fe2O3 composite thin films as anode materials for light-assisted electrolysis of water.     In this work, we study the role of nanotextured ZnFe2O4/Fe2O3composite thin films fabricated by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP) on the photoelectrochemical water oxidation reactions. The ZnFe2O4/Fe2O3 composites with different molar ratios are deposited on three-dimensional nanospikes (NSP) substrate, and the results are compared with those for planar devices.     Polyvinylpyrrolidone coated nano zero valent iron-copper (PVP-nZVI-Cu) bimetallic nanoparticles were successfully synthesized for dechlorination of trichloroethylene (TCE) into non-toxic byproducts in the presence of persulfate oxidant. The average size of PVP-nZVI-Cu nanoparticles (3-25 nm) was smaller than PVP-nZVI (25-60 nm) and nZVI (50-90 nm) particles due to PVP role in the prevention of iron aggregation and agglomerations.     In Fenton-like oxidation processes, the use of biochar (BC) as support material for the nanoscale zero valent iron-nickel (nZVI-Ni) bimetallic particles attained much attention to activate persulfate (PS) for TCE degradation in aqueous medium.     Abstract
    This study describes some epidemiological and patho-physiological aspects of Trypanosoma evansi (causative agent of “surra”) infection in camels (n=255) and Nili Ravi buffaloes (n=233). Clinical ailments like fever, shivering, edema of pads and urticarial swelling were observed in infected animals. Overall prevalence of T. evansi infection in buffaloes was 9.01 and 15.12% based on blood smear examination and PCR, respectively, while in camels, the prevalence was 10.58 and 15.29% based on smear examination and PCR, respectively.     Objectives. This article describes the reduction of unsafe behaviors observed at a fertilizer complex by implementation of a behavior-based safety (BBS) program via a behavior observation form developed by a multidisciplinary team. Methods. Six observation categories, i.e., position of people, reaction of people, personal protective equipment (PPE), tools used, operating procedures and housekeeping, are used to monitor safe and unsafe behaviors for a period of 18 months.     In this study, the inclusion of multi-walled carbon nanotubes as the second phase in the hydroxyapatite matrix, in order to improve the mechanical strength, has been performed via the sol-gel process. The stability of carbon nanotube sol with the changes of pH and dispersant values (sodium dodecyl sulfate) was evaluated by zeta potential analysis.     High temperature shape memory NiTiHf thin films with varying hafnium contents up to 28.7 at.% were fabricated by DC magnetron sputtering using simultaneous sputter deposition from separate elemental targets. The required film composition was achieved by adjusting the power ratio to the targets.
