    A Recursive Least Squares Solution to Bearing-only Tracking

    Abstract
    The conventional bearing-only tracking solutions are based on Kalman filter. Whenever the problem equations are nonlinear, Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) or more complicated methods are used necessarily. However, EKF suffers of being biased and unstable. Here a new recursive method based on a linear modeling of the problem is proposed, the method does not need an initial guess and outperforms the Kalman filter in the terms of accuracy, complexity and stability.     Imaging Method To Detect Low Probability of Intercept Radars

    Abstract
    In this thesis, a new passive method suitable for Geolocating LPI radars is introduced. The method uses two Electronic Support (ES) receivers placed on a fast moving platform (e.g., an airplane or a satellite). The proposed method has a high processing gain, which makes it highly suitable for very weak LPI signals. The processing gain of the method was analytically derived and illustrated with simulation to determine if the proposed method can detect LPI radars in much lower SNRs compared to regular time-frequency LPI detection methods.     A kinetic model for growth of ZnO nanorods via vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) mechanism based on the bulk diffusion of Zn atoms through the Au-Zn droplet is presented. The dependences of the growth rate on size are given quantitatively. A general expression for the growth rate of nanorods during VLS process is derived. The derived formula shows the dependences of growth rate on lateral size of nanorods, concentration and supersaturation of Zn atoms in the liquid droplet.     We study the collective excitations in a relativistic fluid with an anomalous U(1) current. In 3+1 dimensions at zero chemical potential, in addition to ordinary sound modes we find two propagating modes in presence of an external magnetic field. The first one which is a transverse degenerate mode, propagates with a velocity proportional to the coefficient of gravitational anomaly; this is in fact the Chiral Alfvén wave recently found in [1]. The operational parameters considered include feed moisture, specific pressure and roll speed.
