Abstract
Catalyst-free Markovnikov-selective hydrothiolation of unactivated alkenes still remains a great challenge. Herein, we develop a catalyst/metal/solvent-free methodology for the Markovnikov hydrothiolation of unactivated alkenes with in situ prepared dithiocarbamic acids, providing a wide array of alkyl dithiocarbamates. A variety of terminal, internal, cyclic, and acyclic unactivated alkenes were applied successfully in this protocol. This three-component thiol-ene reaction can be considered as a new family of click reactions. © 2024 American Chemical Society

Abstract
The study examines the synthesis and characterization of novel Fe3O4@SiO2@PrEDAS nanoparticles (NP) as a magnetic adsorbent and its application in polyethersulfone (PES) ultrafiltration (UF) membrane fabrication using the phase inversion method by adding it into the membrane dope solution at different concentrations. The efficiency of Fe3O4@SiO2@PrEDAS adsorbent was evaluated by batch adsorption of Pb(II). The performance of the modified membranes was investigated by determining the pure water flux (PWF), bovine serum albumin (BSA) rejection, Pb(II) removal, dye rejection, and antifouling characteristics. Considering the results, it was observed that the NP is an effective adsorbent for...

Abstract
An efficient, catalyst-free, regio- and diastereoselective approach for the synthesis of novel 7-aryl-3-alkyl(aryl)-6-methyl-6,7-dihydro-5H-[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazin-6-ols has been developed via the reaction of 4-amino-[1,2,4]triazole-3-thiols with nitroepoxides in methanol at room temperature. The products were simply dehydrated in the presence of PTSA in ethanol at 70 C to afford the corresponding 7-aryl-3-alkyl(aryl)-6-methyl-7H-[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazines in 91 98% yields. In addition, treatment of the product with acidic chloroform afforded the corresponding ?-((4-amino-5-methyl- 4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)thio) ?-phenylpropan-2-one in quantitative yield. © 2023...

Abstract
Nitroepoxides were introduced as efficient substrates for the one-pot three-component synthesis of 2-iminothiazoles under catalyst-free conditions. Reaction of amines, isothiocyanates, and nitroepoxides in THF at 10–15 °C afforded corresponding 2-iminothiazoles in high to excellent yields. The reaction proceeds via the in situ formation of thiourea from an amine and an isothiocyanate, followed by nitroepoxide ring opening with the sulfur of thiourea, cyclization reaction, and dehydration cascade. The structures of products were confirmed by IR, NMR, HRMS analyses and X-ray crystallography. © 2023, The Author(s)

Abstract
Rhodium-catalyzed intramolecular cyclization of nitrogen-tethered allenols was investigated for the synthesis of functionalized morpholines. By using this strategy, various N-protected 2,5- and 2,6-disubstituted as well as 2,3,5- and 2,5,6-trisubstituted morpholines were obtained via an atom-economic pathway with high to excellent yields, diastereo- and enantioselectivities (up to 99% yield, up to >99 : 1 dr and up to >99.9 ee). The utilities of the synthesized morpholines in ozonolysis, hydration, metathesis and epoxidation reactions were also investigated. © 2023 The Royal Society of Chemistry

Abstract
Four metal dithiocarbamate complexes (Zn, Ni, Hg and Sn) based on an amine containing pyridyl and nitrile groups, 3-((pyridin-2-yl)methylamino)propanenitrile, were prepared and characterized by their elemental analysis, spectroscopic data (such as IR, 1H and 13C NMR), TGA analysis and X-ray crystallography of the Ni(II) complex. The presence of a band in the 1000 cm-1 region in the IR spectra, without any splitting, confirms the symmetrical bidentate bonding mode of the dithiocarbamate ligand. Also, the short thioureide C=N distance in the X-ray analysis of the Ni complex confirms the delocalization of π electrons over the S2CN moiety and strong double bond character between the carbon and...

Abstract
Correlations between electrical and thermal conduction in polymer composites are blurred due to the complex contribution of charge and heat carriers at the nanoscale junctions of filler particles. Conflicting reports on the lack or existence of thermal percolation in polymer composites have made it the subject of great controversy for decades. Here, we develop a generalized percolation framework that describes both electrical and thermal conductivity within a remarkably wide range of filler-to-matrix conductivity ratios (Y f / Y m), covering 20 orders of magnitude. Our unified theory provides a genuine classification of electrical conductivity with typical Y f / Y m ≥ 10 10 as...
Investigating Mechanism, Transition State, and Products Distribution of Catalys-Free Hydrothiolation Reactions of Unactivated Terminal Alkynes by Dithiocarbamic Acids
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Ziyaei Halimehjani, Azim (Supervisor)
Abstract
In this study, catalyst-free hydrothiolation reactions of unactivated terminal alkynes by dithiocarbamic acids have been investigated via computational chemistry approach and by Gaussian 09, GaussVeiw 5.0, and Spartan '14 V1.1.4 software from the perspective of the reaction mechanism, transition state, and the distribution of products. The calculation results have shown that the various in situ produced dithiocarbamic acids addition to unactivated terminal alkynes in which the alkyl group attached to the carbon 2 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon alkyl is through Markovnikov type path and this product is thermodynamically more stable which is in agreement with the experimental results. The NBO...

Abstract
Understanding the nature of interaction between metal nanoparticles and biomolecules such as amino acids is important in the development and design of biosensors. In this paper, binding of M3 clusters (M = Au, Ag and Cu) with neutral and anionic forms of histidine amino acid was studied using density functional theory (DFT-B3LYP). It was found that the interaction of histidine with M3 clusters is governed by two major bonding factors: (a) the anchoring N-M and O-M bonds and (b) the nonconventional N-H⋯M and O-H⋯M hydrogen bonds. The nature of these chemical bonds has been investigated based on quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM) and natural bond orbital (NBO) analyses. In the next...
