Statistical Methodes for Urban Travel Time Estimation
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Alishahi, Kasra (Supervisor)
Abstract
Travel time estimation is a central issue in the urban transportation industry and is the basis of many analyses and services in businesses related to this area. In the past few years, various statistical approaches have been devised to solve this problem. The purpose of this dissertation is to review existing methods by focusing on segment-based approaches for urban travel time estimation. A big challenge is the small amount of data in hand compared to the size of the urban network. Exploring historical data and extracting correlation between urban network segments leads to modeling the urban traffic condition and travel time estimation in one specific time interval of the day
Coating of MgO Thin Film on Porous NiTi Supper Elastic Alloy by MAO
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Sadrnezhad, Khatiboleslam (Supervisor)
Abstract
The novel Micro Arc Oxidation technique (MAO) is gaining increased attention for depositing thick, dense, corrosion resistant and hard ceramic coating on metals. In this research, the effects of parameters including electrolyte composition and coating time on properties of MAO coatings formed on NiTi were investigated. The surface morphology, thickness and phase composition of coatings were investigated using scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction. Corrosion behavior of the coatings was examined by potentiodynamic polarization. Also wear resistance was examined by pin on disk test. It was found that MAO coatings improve corrosion resistance of NiTi. All of these applied...
Hierarchical Graph: A new cost effective architecture for network on chip
, Article International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing, EUC 2005, Nagasaki, 6 December 2005 through 9 December 2005 ; Volume 3824 LNCS , 2005 , Pages 311-320 ; 03029743 (ISSN); 3540308075 (ISBN); 9783540308072 (ISBN) ; Tavakoli, A ; Falaki, M. H ; Sharif University of Technology

Abstract
We purposed a new Network on Chip (NoC) architecture called Hierarchical Graph. The most interesting feature of this novel architecture is its simple implementation process. Furthermore, the flexible structure of this topology makes it suitable for use in application specified chips. To benchmark the suggested architecture with existing ones, basic models of physical implementation have been extracted and simulated using NS-2. The results compared with the common used architecture Mesh show that HG has better performance, especially in local traffics and high loads. © IFIP International Federation for Information Processing 2005
Effect of Surface Severe Plastic Deformation on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Low-Carbon Steel Sheet
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Kazeminezhad, Mohsen (Supervisor)
Abstract
In recent years, extensive research has been conducted on the severe plastic deformation of steel sheets. One of the effective techniques in this field is the constrained groove pressing (CGP) process, which has attracted considerable attention due to its ability to refine the microstructure and enhance mechanical properties. Moreover, surface severe plastic deformation is of particular importance because it produces a nanocrystalline layer on the material surface and creates a property gradient along the sheet thickness. Severe shot peening is recognized as one of the most effective methods for introducing severe surface deformation. A major challenge in higher passes of the CGP process is...
