    Abstract
Using the public network for distributed computations compromises the immunity of control loops to cyberattacks such as data manipulation and eavesdropping. These risks have forced control system engineers to find solutions to protect control systems against these dangers. Encrypted control studies these dangers and tries to propose new modified control systems to increase the immunity of the control systems. Secret sharing is one of the tools used in the encrypted control field. In this paper, we modify this tool to propose an algorithm to design a secure control system. This scheme while guarantees the security of the control systems, can attenuate the measurement noise as well. To achieve...

    Abstract
High rates of mortality and morbidity stemming from cardiovascular diseases unveil extreme limitations in current therapies despite enormous advances in medical and pharmaceutical sciences. Following myocardial infarction (MI), parts of myocardium undergo irreversible remodeling and is substituted by a scar tissue which eventually leads to heart failure (HF). To address this issue, cardiac patches have been utilized to initiate myocardial regeneration. In this study, a porous cardiac patch is fabricated using a mixture of decellularized myocardium extracellular matrix (ECM) and chitosan (CS). Results of rheological measurements, SEM, biodegradation test, and MTT assay showed that the...

    Abstract
Inference and Estimation in Missing Information (MI) scenarios are important topics in Statistical Learning Theory and Machine Learning (ML). In ML literature, attempts have been made to enhance prediction through precise feature selection methods. In sparse linear models, LASSO is well-known in extracting the desired support of the signal and resisting against noisy systems. When sparse models are also suffering from MI, the sparse recovery and inference of the missing models are taken into account simultaneously. In this paper, we will introduce an approach which enjoys sparse regression and covariance matrix estimation to improve matrix completion accuracy, and as a result enhancing...

    Abstract
In order to examine the impact of structural and thermal scale parameters on thermoelastic vibrations of Euler-Bernoulli nanobeams, this article intends to provide a size-dependent generalized thermoelasticity model with the help of nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT) in conjunction with dual-phase-lag (DPL) heat conduction model. To highlight the role of each scale parameter in size-dependent motion and heat conduction equations, normalized forms of these nonclassical coupled thermoelastic equations are extracted by introducing and exploiting some dimensionless parameters. By exploiting power series expansion as a general solution for arbitrary boundary conditions, system of partial...

    Abstract
Localization of radio-frequency (RF) transmitters using time difference of arrival (TDOA)-based methods is one of the conventional passive techniques that admits noncooperative source position finding, but suffers from challenging requirements such as precise intersensor synchronization and high-throughput transmission data links. A tradeoff governing the TDOA systems is in the sensor placement configuration. The more distance the sensors are placed, the more accurate localization is carried out, while the cost for the synchronization and data link increases, at the same time. In this work, a novel reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-aided localization system is proposed that enjoys...

    Abstract
Economic production and on-time ordering are among the most important topics related to production and inventory control issues. An economical production needs a comprehensive and precise planning to be implemented in all production stages. To have a controlled and comprehensive planning system, economic order quantity (EOQ) or economic production quantity (EPQ) models are usually used in various production-inventory environments to minimize costs, avoid delays in orders, and achieve high performance. To meet the demands, sometimes a multiperiod production-inventory planning that involves several products requires outsourcing. In this paper, a production-procurement plan that integrates EOQ...

    Abstract
In this article, a size-dependent generalized thermoelasticity model is established to appraise the small-scale effect on thermoelastic vibrations of Euler-Bernoulli nanobeams. Small-scale effect on the structure and heat conduction is captured by exploiting nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT) and nonclassical heat conduction model of Guyer and Krumhansl (GK model). NSGT enables the model to account for both nonlocal and strain gradient effects on structure, and GK formulation empowers the model to incorporate both nonlocal and lagging effect into heat conduction equation. The normalized forms of size-dependent equations of motion and heat conduction are provided by introducing some...

    Abstract
While the differentiation factors have been widely used to differentiate mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) into various cell types, they can cause harm at the same time. Therefore, it is beneficial to propose methods to differentiate MSCs without factors. Herein, magnetoelectric (ME) nanofibers were synthesized as the scaffold for the growth of MSCs and their differentiation into neural cells without factors. This nanocomposite takes the advantage of the synergies of the magnetostrictive filler, CoFe 2 O 4 nanoparticles (CFO), and piezoelectric polymer, polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF). Graphene oxide nanosheets were decorated with CFO nanoparticles for a proper dispersion in the polymer through...

    Abstract
In this paper, we will investigate the efficacy of IMAT (Iterative Method of Adaptive Thresholding) in recovering the sparse signal (parameters) for linear models with random missing data. Sparse recovery rises in compressed sensing and machine learning problems and has various applications necessitating viable reconstruction methods specifically when we work with big data. This paper will mainly focus on comparing the power of Iterative Method of Adaptive Thresholding (IMAT) in reconstruction of the desired sparse signal with that of LASSO. Additionally, we will assume the model has random missing information. Missing data has been recently of interest in big data and machine learning...

A novel approach to quantized matrix completion using huber loss measure

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc  2019
    Abstract
In this paper, we introduce a novel and robust approach to quantized matrix completion. First, we propose a rank minimization problem with constraints induced by quantization bounds. Next, we form an unconstrained optimization problem by regularizing the rank function with Huber loss. Huber loss is leveraged to control the violation from quantization bounds due to two properties: first, it is differentiable; and second, it is less sensitive to outliers than the quadratic loss. A smooth rank approximation is utilized to endorse lower rank on the genuine data matrix. Thus, an unconstrained optimization problem with differentiable objective function is obtained allowing us to advantage from...

    Abstract
The ultra-supercritical once-through boiler (OTB) unit is an advanced power generation technology with high plant efficiency and low emissions. However, it is difficult to realize a coordinate control for the ultra-supercritical OTB unit to achieve the fast and stable dynamic response during the load tracking and grid frequency disturbances and in the presence of unavoidable uncertainties. In this paper, an accurate grey box multivariable coupled nonlinear model of an ultra-supercritical boiler-turbine unit is considered. Steam pressure at throttle valve, specific enthalpy in separator and active power are adjusted at desired values by manipulation of the fuel rate command, feedwater rate...
