Abstract
Analytical treatment of a linear elastic isotropic bi-material full-space reinforced by an interfacial thin film under axisymmetric normal loading is addressed. The thin film is modeled as an extensible membrane perfectly bonded to the half-spaces. By virtue of Love's potential function and Hankel integral transform, elastic fields of the system are explicitly written in the form of semi-infinite line integrals. The analytical results are verified by the special cases corresponding to the surface stiffened half-space and classical bi-material problem. Abstract
This study deals with the elastodynamic response of a surface-stiffened transversely isotropic half-space subjected to a buried time-harmonic normal load. The half-space is reinforced by a Kirchhoff thin plate on its surface. By virtue of a displacement potential function and appropriate time-harmonic Green’s functions of transversely isotropic half-spaces, a robust solution corresponding to two plate-medium bonding assumptions, namely (a) frictionless interface, and (b) perfectly bonded interface is obtained for the first time. Abstract
In direct torque control, the selection of an applied voltage vector is based on the measured parameters at the beginning of the sampling period. The delay between the measurement and the application of the voltage vector is the origin of an extra torque ripple. In this paper, a new predictive controller is proposed for compensating this delay and reducing the torque ripple. The stator current is measured twice in each sampling period and its expected value at the end of the period is predicted according to a linear extrapolation algorithm. The efficiency of induction motors decreases at light loads. Efficiency optimizer control systems adjust the motor flux value to achieve the best efficiency in a wide range of load variations. The propagation of anti-plane surface waves in an inhomogeneous magneto-electro-elastic MEE) half-space with 6mm symmetry is studied. By virtue of both direct and indirect methods, the dispersion relations corresponding to two general cases of material properties variation are obtained. In the first case, it is assumed that all material properties involving MEE properties and density vary similarly in depth. Abstract
This study evaluates the effects of carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur dopants on the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 for degradation of oxytetracycline (OTC) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal from licorice extraction plant wastewater (LEPW). Three novel visible-light-responsive nanostructures, including L-Histidine-TiO2, L-Methionine-TiO2 and L-Asparagine-TiO2, were successfully synthesized. The results showed that the modification of TiO2 with these three amino acids made the catalyst active in the visible light region and reduced the recombination rate of e−/h+ pairs according to PL analysis. In this study, three different reusable photocatalysts containing different amino acids as a source of non-metals, including L-Arginine, L-Proline, and L-Methionine, have been synthesized for the first time. Using a kinetic study and degradation efficiency test, these visible driven photocatalysts were investigated for their photocatalytic activity in removing antibiotics, including metronidazole (MNZ) and cephalexin (CEX). Abstract
In this study knee joint vibroarthrographic (VAG) signals are recorded during active knee movements, which are essentially non-stationary. Because of this nature, common frequency methods are unable to represent the signals, accurately. Both time-frequency and time-scale transforms are used in this research which are good tools for studying non-stationary signals.
