Phase change materials have been of great interest due to their ability to save and restore energy in low temperature ranges. The regulation is necessary for the electric distribution networks as a natural monopoly. Regulators have been applied the Performance Based Regulation (PBR) for the control of price. The common model of PBR is price cap. Price cap creates sufficient incentive for cost efficiency. However, it decreases the service quality in distribution systems. In this article, a high-accuracy hybrid approach for short-term wind power forecasting is proposed using historical data of wind farm and Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) data. The power forecasting is carried out in three stages: wind direction forecasting, wind speed forecasting, and wind power forecasting. Switched Reluctance Motors (SRMs) are widely used in high-speed and low voltage applications because of their attractive features such as robustness and simplicity. This paper proposes an approach to enhance the reliability regulation based on the relative performance. In the proposed approach, the distribution system feeders are clustered based on the parameters, which cannot be controlled by distribution companies. Abstract
Regarding the increasing number of electrical devices in the smart homes that leads to increase in total electricity consumption and cost, it is essential to use energy management methods to reduce the electricity cost. However, this can cause resident's dissatisfaction. Hence, it is important to define a method in which cost and dissatisfaction be optimized simultaneously. Among different services, an electric vehicle is the one that can be used as an energy storage system, so it can reduce the daily cost despite of increasing the total energy consumption. Abstract
Using solid-state power amplifiers for next generation of weather radars becomes feasible by pulse compression techniques. In this study a 1.5 kW solid-state power amplifier (transmitter) for C-band weather radars is designed and fabricated by GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) technology. An experimental setup based on heterodyne receiver with 16-bit digitiser is developed to investigate the behavior of the power amplifier under different cooling methods and back-off points.
