    Abstract
    Partial discharge (PD) is a common phenomenon which occurs in insulation of high voltage equipments, such as; transformers and has a damaging effect on the insulation. If data mining techniques be used to find specifications and features of different types of partial discharges in power transformers, one can monitor the insulation condition of such equipment online and continuously. Those results can be employed to develop preventive measures more exactly and consequently the maintenance would require less time and cost for electric utility and improve the life time expectancy of the transformers.     Partial discharge (PD) measurement is one of the best methods for condition monitoring of transformers. In this paper, we use 5 different types of defects as follows: scratch on winding insulation, bubble in oil, moisture in insulation paper, a very small free metal particle in the transformer tank, and a fixed sharp metal point on the transformer tank, for our PD-related studies. In order to increase the flexibility of concrete in previous studies, crushed rubber tire particles have been added to concrete.     In this thesis, satellite aided capture of spacecraft around Jupiter is optimized with the final goal of capture into a circular orbit around Europa. The cost functions of the multi-objective optimization process that should be minimized are: 1) summation of the propulsive ΔVs, 2) the total duration of the capture scenario, and 3) the integral flux of the energetic electrons and protons during the maneuvers.     Perovskite solar cells have been constructed under the standard procedure by employing soluble tetratriphenylamine-substituted Zn phthalocyanine as hole transporting material. Solution processed device construction was carried out under ambient conditions of 50–60% ambient humidity.     Indole-2(3H)thiones were cyclized under the action of 2-fluorobenzoyl chlorides to give thiochromeno[2,3-b]indol-11(6H)-ones or under the action of 2-chloronicotinoyl chlorides to give pyrido[3′,2′:5,6]thiopyrano[2, 3-b]indol-5(10H)-ones. The reaction of cyclization proceeds regioselectively in DMF and does not require transition metals for completion.
