Abstract
Surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) lasing requires population inversion, it is inefficient and possesses poor spectral properties. We develop an inversion-less concept for a quantum plasmonic waveguide that exploits unidirectional superradiant SPP (SSPP) emission of radiation to produce intense coherent surface plasmon beams. Our scheme includes a resonantly driven cold atomic medium in a lossless dielectric situated above an ultra-low loss negative index metamaterial (NIMM) layer. Abstract
The possibility of the direct excitation of surface polaritons (SPs) by the free-space laser fields at the interface of negative-index metamaterial (NIMM) layer and a bottom layer of cold double Lambda-type atomic medium is investigated. The giant field enhancement (up to jE∕E0j2 ≈ 4.1), together with suppressed ohmic loss of the NIMM layer in a wide transparency window of a double electromagnetically induced transparency, results in the SPs generation. We develop a concept for a waveguide that exploits spatial control of nonlinear surface-polaritonic waves. Our scheme includes an optical cavity with four-level N-type atoms in a lossless dielectric placed above a negative-index metamaterial layer. We propose exciting a polaritonic Akhmediev breather at a certain position of the interface between the atomic medium and the metamaterial by modifying laser-field intensities and detunings. Excitation and propagation of the surface polaritonic rogue waves and breathers are investigated by proposing a coupler free optical waveguide that consists of a transparent layer, middle negative index metamaterial layer, and bottom layer of the cold four level atomic medium. In this study, we discuss the postural stability of a nonprehensile manipulation problem, which deals with multibody objects. As a metric for postural stability, we define PRI. Then, the system is posturally stable, if PRI is inside the convex hull of the object-manipulator contact surface. We then discuss that dynamic biped locomotion is a special case of dynamic nonprehensile manipulation in all aspects; we prove that ZMP (zero-moment point) and FRI (zoot rotation indicator) are special cases of PRI (palm rotation indicator). The electrochemical oxidation behavior of the anti-inflammatory drug piroxicam was investigated. A carbon nanoparticle (CNP)-chitosan (CS) film-coated graphite electrode (PGE) was fabricated and the electrochemical behaviors of piroxicam on its surface was investigated by the means of cyclic voltammetry (CV), linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). In the present work, edge-functionalaized graphene was used as electrode material and its electrochemical properties were systematically characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. At the first part of this thesis, a pyrolitic graphite electrode (PGE) modified with new coccine/multi-walled carbon nanotubes film (NC/MWCNT) was applied as a sensitive electrochemical sensor for determination and study of electrochemical behavior of tyrosine (Tyr) in aqueous solutions. The results showed that NC/MWCNT caused a remarkable increase in the peak current so the NC/MWCNT/PGE electrode surface was far more sensitive to the concentration of Tyr than the PGE surface. For an undirected graph G, a zero-sum flow is an assignment of non-zero real numbers on the edges of G such that the total sum of all edges incident with any vertex of G is zero. A zero-sum k-flow for a graph G is a zero-sum flow with labels from the set {±1, . . . , ±(k ? 1)}.
