Theoretical and numerical analyses of rotating disks with non-uniform thickness and material properties subjected to thermo-mechanical loadings have been carried out by variable material properties (VMP), Runge-Kutta's (RK) and finite element (FE) methods. This article presents a multi-standard transmitter based on the eight-path architecture with a fully digital baseband (BB) input, covering the frequency band from 300 MHz to 1.5 GHz, while all harmonics and the distortion product of C-IMD3 are rejected to better than -40 dBc. In this thesis, a wideband multi-standard digital transmitter based on the multi-path architecture has been designed in 65-nm CMOS process. Moreover, the effect of phase error of the clocks on the output specifications of this multi-path transmitter has been analyzed, and based on the derived theoretical equations, circuit-level solutions for the correction of these errors have been proposed. Recent years have seen the development of various remote sensing-based methods for river streamflow estimation. Among them, the C/M approach estimates streamflow by analyzing surface reflectance at two benchmark pixels, namely dry and wet. However, its efficiency heavily depends on the expert-selected dry and wet pixels, which cannot be chosen randomly. Graphene oxide nanoplatelets (GONPs) with extremely sharp edges (lateral dimensions ∼20-200 nm and thicknesses <2 nm) were applied in extraction of the overexpressed guanine synthesized in the cytoplasm of leukemia cells. The blood serums containing the extracted guanine were used in differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) with reduced graphene oxide nanowall (rGONW) electrodes to develop fast and ultra-sensitive electrochemical detection of leukemia cells at leukemia fractions (LFs) of ∼10-11 (as the lower detection limit). The effects of zinc content (2 and 4 wt%), heat treatment (solution-Treated and T6), as well as hot deformation (extrusion and multi-directional forging (MDF)) on the microstructure, mechanical and degradation behavior of Mg-Zn alloys were studied. As the result of microstructure refinement, solid solution and precipitate strengthening (formation of MgZn second phases), the strength of pure Mg was increased after Zn addition. Ensemble Kalman filter, EnKF, as a Monte Carlo sequential data assimilation method has emerged promisingly for subsurface media characterization during past decade. Due to high computational cost of large ensemble size, EnKF is limited to small ensemble set in practice. This results in appearance of spurious correlation in covariance structure leading to incorrect or probable divergence of updated realizations. In this paper, a universal/adaptive thresholding method is presented to remove and/or mitigate spurious correlation problem in the forecast covariance matrix. Multilevel interconnect network of a macrocell for 7.5 nm technology node is designed with carbon based interconnects (CBI) and Cu. Results are compared. Constrains of using CBI is discussed. In this paper, n-tier methodology is developed to design multilevel interconnect architecture of macrocells using single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) bundles. Upper limit of low-bias voltage of SWCNT bundle interconnects is derived and its dependence on temperature, SWCNTs' diameter, and interconnect length is studied. Possibility of using SWCNT bundles as local interconnects at 7.5-nm technology node is discussed, and it is shown that SWCNT bundles with 1 nm diameter cannot be used at the first interconnect metal level. Abstract
Pseudomonas aeoroginosa B-3556 was grown on soy flour based semi-solid media for lipase production. The effect of different factors including medium composition, pH, temperature, mixing intensity and substrate particle size on lipase productivity was analyzed using the Taguchi method in three steps. Based on these analyses the optimum concentrations of soy flour, (NH4)2HPO4, K2HPO4 and MgSO4.7H2O were found be 3%, 3%, 0.5% and 0.21% respectively. Furthermore, optimum values for temperature, pH and the shaking speed were determined as 30°C, 7.1 and 150 rpm. The power law logistic model was utilized to investigate the growth of a hydrocarbon assimilating bacterium on a water-insoluble substrate. To achieve this end, population dynamics of Bacillus licheniformis MS3 in a medium containing n-decane as the sole carbon source was monitored for 30 h. Different initial biosurfactant concentrations and shaking rates were employed to examine the role of mass transfer in the cell growth and the consequent hydrocarbon biodegradation. Abstract
To obtain potentially applicable microorganisms to an effective in situ microbial enhanced oil recovery operation, bacteria that were compatible with the harsh conditions of a petroleum reservoir were isolated from a crude oil sample. The application of an oil spreading technique showed that all of the isolates were capable of producing biosurfactants from both the glucose and crude oil as carbon sources. The secreted biosurfactants could at least reduce the surface tension 20 mN/m and for one of the isolates; the surface tension value dropped below 40 mN/m.
