Abstract
Ultrafine-grained Al-CNT (2 and 4 vol%) composites were successfully fabricated using the flake powder metallurgy and hot pressing route, and the microstructure and tribological properties of the produced composites were studied. The results showed that the coefficient of friction and the wear rate of Al decrease with the addition of the CNT reinforcement. A carbon-rich film formed on the worn surfaces during wear test, which prevented the Al oxidation and yielded the self-lubricating effect for the composites. This improvement in the wear behavior of the composites can be attributed to the simultaneous effects of the ultrafine-grained matrix and strengthening and self-lubricating properties...

Abstract
In this paper, ultra-small CuO nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized through a mechanochemical method using two different Cu-containing precursors (i.e. CuSO4·5H2O and CuCl2·2H2O), and their structure and antibacterial activity were studied. From the microstructural studies, it was observed that CuO NPs have a spherical morphology and a narrow size distribution with 7 and 14 nm median particle sizes for CuCl2·2H2O and CuSO4.5H2O precursors, respectively. The CuCl2·2H2O derived nanoparticles showed more antibacterial activity than CuSO4.5H2O derived nanoparticles. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the synthesized nanoparticles (derived from both precursors) against E. coli and...

Abstract
Cu-CNT composites were fabricated by a flake powder metallurgy method, and their microhardness, electrical conductivity, frictional and wear properties were investigated. Homogenous distribution of CNTs in fine-grained Cu matrix was obtained using this process. Microhardness increased with the addition of CNT vol% up to 8% to the Cu matrix, while the conductivity decreased to 79.2 IACS %. Results showed that CNTs play a major role in improving wear resistance by forming a CNT-rich film that acts as a solid lubricant layer. In the synthesized composites, Cu- 4 vol% CNT composite exhibited the best wear and friction properties. The dominant wear mechanisms for the Cu-CNT composites were...

Abstract
We introduce a 'high probability' framework for repeated games with incomplete information. In our non-equilibrium setting, players aim to guarantee a certain payoff with high probability, rather than in expected value. We provide a high probability counterpart of the classical result of Mertens and Zamir for the zero-sum repeated games. Any payoff that can be guaranteed with high probability can be guaranteed in expectation, but the reverse is not true. Hence, unlike the average payoff case where the payoff guaranteed by each player is the negative of the payoff by the other player, the two guaranteed payoffs would differ in the high probability framework. One motivation for this framework...

Abstract
In the present study, hardness and tribological properties of nanostructured copper reinforced with SiC nanoparticles of various volume fractions (0, 2, 4, and 6 vol%) were investigated. The nanocomposites were fabricated by high-energy mechanical milling and hot pressing method. The Cu-SiC nanocomposites showed enhanced hardness and wear resistance against WC counterface. The hardness and wear resistance of the nanocomposite increased with increasing the amount of SiC nanoparticles up to 2 vol% in the matrix, but they decreased at higher percentages of SiC (4 and 6 vol%). Flake formation-spalling and abrasion were identified as the predominant wear mechanisms. It was found that reducing the...

Abstract
Titanium alloys are widely used in various areas, particularly in medical and dental industries, due to their remarkable properties. Still, the optimum cutting conditions for titanium alloys are under consideration. Ti alloyed with Cu has been reported to provide unique properties such as good mechanical performance, good biocompatibility, acceptable corrosion resistance, and relatively lower melting point. The properties of Ti-Cu alloys mentioned above are sensitive to microstructure. They are highly dependent on microstructural characteristics such as the formation, growth, and morphological features of intermetallics and precipitates, dependent on the amount of Cu and the manufacturing...

Abstract
In this research, carbon nanotube decorated with Cu nanoparticles (CNT/Cu) was synthesized by a new solvothermal process. Solvothermal treatment of CuSO4 and NaOH was completed in ethanol containing ultrasonically dispersed CNTs at 160 °C for 3 h. In the solvothermal process, Cu nanoparticles were heterogeneously deposited on the surface of COOH-functionalized CNTs through the reduction of the Cu+2 ions. Cu nanoparticles with the size of ≈8 nm on CNTs (and some in the solution) and strong bonding between Cu and CNT were obtained by the used process. Microstructural characterization revealed that the solvothermal method is an appropriate method for producing homogenous CNT/Cu nanostructure....

Abstract
Cu/SiC nanocomposite powders with homogeneously distributed nanosize SiC particles were produced by high energy mechanical milling (MM). Scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and micro-hardness and density measurements were performed to understand the effects of microstructure and hardness on compaction behavior during MM. The effects of SiC nanoparticle content and mechanical milling time on apparent density (AD) and tap density (TD) of the nanocomposite powders were systematically investigated. The Hausner ratio (HR), defined as TD to AD, were estimated to evaluate friction between the particles. Increasing MM duration and SiC content resulted...

Abstract
In this study, an attempt has been made to fabricate Cu-SiC nanocomposites by flake powder metallurgy and high-pressure torsion processing techniques at room temperature. Pure Cu and a mixture of Cu and nano-sized SiC powders were mechanically milled separately for 3 h and then green compacts were prepared by uniaxial pressing under 1 GPa pressure. The green compacts experienced 6-turn high-pressure torsion under a pressure of 6 GPa to prepare bulk Cu and Cu-SiC samples. The microstructures of the consolidated samples were characterized using an X-ray diffractometer and a high resolution scanning/transmission electron microscope, and the mechanical properties were evaluated by microhardness,...

Abstract
High bainite dual phase steel has been subjected to tension test at different temperatures from 25 to 500 °C with strain rate of 4.6 × 10-4 s-1 to investigate the effect of temperature on its mechanical properties. Stress-strain curves of steels showed serration flow at temperature range of 200-350 °C and smooth flow at the other temperatures. In agreement with previous studies on some steels, peaks in the variations of yield strength (YS) and ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and minima in ductility were observed at temperature range of 200-350 °C which are various manifestations of dynamic strain aging (DSA). It has been also found that ferrite volume fraction has no effect on the...
