Abstract
Magnetic spinel ferrite nanoparticles (MSF-NPs) are potential candidates for biomedical applications, especially in cancer diagnosis and therapy due to their excellent physiochemical and magnetic properties. In the current study, MSF-NPs were fabricated by sol-gel auto combustion method. The crystal structure and surface morphology were confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). This work presents the development of a novel antifungal ternary approach that is eco-friendly, biocompatible, and cost-effective. It consists of Bryum argenteum extract, silver nanoparticles, and healing clay smectite. Abstract
Mulberry-derived postbiotics (MDP) have been scientifically proven to possess beneficial properties for human health, making them potential nutraceuticals. This study aims to enhance the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect of MDP via submerged fermentation with Bacillus subtilis H4 (H4) and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens LFB112 (LFB112) bacterial strains. Abstract
A novel catalyst of sulfidated iron-nickel supported on biochar (S-FeNi@BC) was synthesized to activate persulfate (PS) for the removal of trichloroethylene (TCE). A number of techniques including XRD, SEM, TEM, FTIR, BET and EDS were employed to characterize S-FeNi@BC. The influence of sulfur to iron ratio (S/F) on TCE removal was investigated by batch experiments and a higher TCE removal (98.4%) was achieved at 0.22/1 ratio of S/F in the PS/S-FeNi@BC oxidation system. In Fenton-like oxidation processes, the use of biochar (BC) as support material for the nanoscale zero valent iron-nickel (nZVI-Ni) bimetallic particles attained much attention to activate persulfate (PS) for TCE degradation in aqueous medium. Although there is a common view that the impact of Covid-19 should be similar among stock markets globally, empirical examinations of this issue are lacking. This study investigates the impacts of Covid-19 on the stock markets of countries in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) between September 2019 to July 2020. The findings of conventional t-test and non-parametric Mann-Whitney tests suggest that Covid-19 had a negative short-term impact on stock markets in GCC. Splitting in ingot cast structures and transverse cracks in continuous cast structures are the main problems of hot rolling of low carbon resulfurized free-cutting (LCRF) steels. Presence of high volume fraction of manganese sulfide inclusions in cast structure increases the risk of alligatoring in hot rolling.
